Froch. Smith doesn't look competent when somebody puts it on him.
He might land some good stuff on Froch and make it difficult but once Froch starts rampaging like he did against Bute, Smith will cover up and get battered

Love me some Froch, but I think this is a pick ‘em fight. Can see a case for both guys winning. Smith is sound and more well rounded and fundamentally sound as a fighter, but Froch had the power, whiskers and will to win.

This. Froch beat way better competition than Smith. Froch would beat the tar out of Smith.

Ha, I don't know any televised fighter I've ever seen around this division that Callum Smith could beat.

    Utterly pathetic.

Froch would chew him up and spit him out with absolute ease.

I’d fancy Smith getting Cobra’d in the 5th. Remember the Cobra only had 1 easy fight in his prime (Yusuf Mack).. Elite fight experience is very important.

There's not one guy at 168 I'd pick currently to beat Froch, including Canelo. Smith is made to order for Carl. The Cobra dismantles Smith fairly quickly, and leaves him slumped over the ropes, thoroughly Bute'd.

Froch would punch holes in Smith and KHTFO

Smith went life and death against Skoglund in what was a very close fight on many people's cards. The late KD being the difference.

Struggled against 35 y/o kickboxer Holzken who literally took the fight on five days notice and I'm not being sarcastic when I call him a kickboxer because is an actual famous kickboxer.

Beat a way past prime one-armed Groves who was coming off shoulder surgery after suffering a terrible injury just seven months earlier. Groves shoulder was still causing him problems over a year after he fought Smith and obviously he never fought again after that.

Smith was coming off a scandalous robbery against Ryder in his last fight and categorically should have lost the world title he won against a way past prime one-armed Groves.

    Froch beat

    Kessler
    Pascal
    Bute
    Abraham
    Taylor
Dirrell - controversial but spending the entire fight running around the ring like a petrified gazelle and then flopping to the canvas like a melodramatic camp jellyfish whenever your opponent manages to catch up with you and get themselves into punching range should only be rewarded with scorn and ridicule.

A prime healthy Groves who had two good arms
    Glen Johnson
    Robin Reid

That's Froch's form at the world level

Easy work for Froch, don't think Mundo would see the end. He simply hasn't enough variety in his game to beat Froch. If he couldn't stop Canelo mauling him, he certainly couldn't stop Froch.

I'd see something like the Bute fight, with Callum maybe lasting a few more rounds.

two big differences between these guys:
Froch is a warrior who has heart and comes to fight. even when he was outclassed by Ward for 11 and a half rounds he never gave up and caught Ward late and had him in trouble the last 30 seconds of fight.
Callum is far more technically superior but does not have a warriors heart or a warriors mentality.

ironically, it is because of Froch that we have been overeating the british MWs and SMWs ever since.

mccracken, Groves, Murray, Smith....all sub par fighters at best who were grossly overrated based on the reputation Froch built for the brits

Smith gets Cobra'ed! He's too stationary and his style gives up his reach when he engages, he'd be a sitting duck every time he threw and the last thing you want to do is be there to be hit when facing Froch. Doesn't matter if Smith has better technique, technique is not the same as boxing skills, Froch new how to fight long and use his jab and box despite having worse technique, I'm not even sure Smith could out box him if Froch decided to box with him, because he'd still find it far too easy to connect.
