Just scored it and had it 115-113 to Smith, most of the rounds were close, and I could easilly see a draw or it going to Ryder. I don't see the eggresious robbery claims as having much of any merit, and considering their record outside of this fight, I don't get all the rankings of Ryder above Smith for the SMW division.

The cards were obviously biased in favour of Smith, but fairly justifiable. And Ryder should get a rematch.

I think Smith showed a fair bit of Basic Brit about him, being far too in straight lines, and his use of a high guard caused him problems. Both meant he didn't use his reach nearly as well as he should have.

I did a thread on this at the time, had it a draw saying 7-5 either way was fine in my second viewing after crying robbery at first. Could easily see where Smith won it. Got totally lambasted for it. It was a closer fight than expected is all.

    You scored it correctly.

The problem is a certain vocal group of fans will explain how if you watch it in slow motion, with no sound, upside down and in the dark that it’s clear Ryder won... or was robbed.

In short it’s partly human nature. When we see fat people we don’t know, for example, it’s easy to think that they don’t eat healthy or exercise. However when it’s a friend or ourselves we tend to think it’s a bad or slower metabolism, stress or other factors outside their/our control.

Google Actor–observer asymmetry for a more in-depth look as to why if you’re curious.

Fans of Ryder or those who don’t like Smith are inclined to think their guy won and that’s ok, however the use of the word robbery DOES NOT APPLY HERE.

It doesn't matter because Smith is going to get battered by the ginger one.

    Timberrrrrrr

This fight will probably prove that Liam Smith is the most talented of the Brothers IMO.

    Liam would probably beat Ryder

I like both of you guys, and I get what you're saying Oddone, that does happen on occasion. But you both couldn't be anymore far off on this one. That match didn't need to be rewound and watched in slow motion. It was abundantly clear to most that were watching it, that what was happening, happened. It was a fairly easy match to score. Ryder beat the **** out of him and won it with relative ease, taking easily 9 of the 12 rounds. Even the rounds Callum won he was not even remotely dominant in. There's no pathway to victory for Smith. That doesn't take anything away from the match with Canelo, styles make fights, Canelo's style is not Ryder's, so it'll be a different fight, so not only do I not hold it against Canelo for taking the fight and have nothing bad to say about it. I commend him for taking it and think it'll be far tougher for him than many seem to think.

All I remember people saying how Canelo was terrified of Smith, now that the fight is on the same people are crying.

I thought it was a fairly one sided Ryder victory 116-112 is what I had it. Didn't find it overly hard to score either. I don't have a preference for either fighter but I thought it was a Callum Smith masterclass especially with his defence and his ability to light him up on the inside.

I think I had it as wide as 9-3 for Ryder.

Yes I picked Ryder to beat Smith. So one might think I would be biased. But almost everybody else on the RBR, didn't pick Ryder and they weren't being biased.
