Callum Smith vs Lyndon Arthur

It's a good tick over job for Smith, nothing more. I would have liked to see him in a big fight (though I know it's hard with fighters tied up.) I know Arthur is 1-1 with Yarde, but Callum Smith is far better. I know Smith said he was happy to fight Bautsi next. That would have been a better fight.

 

Buatsi will probably be looking for his one tune up fight which should do him for the year as he has no ambition of stepping up.

 

Arthur quit against Yarde. Once he gets hit he'll unravel. Smith inside 6.

Hearn interview on one of the YoUTube channels. You have to wonder about some of these boxers losing their best years to nothing fights (meaning no disrespect to Arthur - it's a decent one for him but he must know it's not exactly being given on merit).

 

Lyndon went into the rematch scared stiff. I remember seeing him kneeling in the corner during the announcements and thinking he doesn’t want to know.

Yarde was like a zombie in the first fight and only went for it in the last round and probably hurt him, hence Arthur trying everything to get out of the return.

As soon as he got cornered and felt the power again he quit physically - mentally he had already done so.

I agree, when Callum starts to land big he probably won’t want to know. It’s a shame as he’s a nice kid, and has got solid fundamentals - just not the necessary mental toughness.
