How far do you believe he can go in the 175lbs division? Have your opinions changed after he knocked Lenin Castillo out cold in 2 rounds when he has been the distance with the likes of Dmitry Bivol and Marcus Browne and also has never been stopped or KO'd before How far can he go?
people like to hate on Callum Smith these days after a couple of lacklustre performances at 168. But he's always been a very good fighter, he's had more good nights than bad, he's looked sensational in some fights. Wouldn't surprise me at all if he's a real force at 175.
Smith could be one of those guys who looked absolutely dog**** at one weight class but turns into a real contender and world class fighter one above because of the weight cut. I mean he had some good performances at 168 but mostly due to shot opposition (Groves). Most of the time he was just very poor. That power might be real. But let's not overreact. Time will tell.
The punch he threw was exactly the kind of thing he's been missing, at 168 he had an aura of non-sharpness around everything he did. We don't know what Castillo's condition going into the fight was though, maybe there was something wrong already.
Not gonna read too much into it - big statement though. But I still think Smith is a bit too basic to trouble the elites at 175. But the power is legit though
