Castillo's soul literally left his body. Scary KO. Expecting Smith to make some noise at 175. I'm often against triangle theories in boxing but you can't help but make comparisons to Bivol going the distance with Castillo and Smith absolutely dismantling him.
He was an unofficial float. If the card was delayed or something happened he would have been pulled until after the main event. It’s literally just down to Sky’s timing requirements for him to be above Callum nothing else
Looked a lot better at that weight, I wonder how he'd get on against Alvarez at 175? Less drained, packing more power and having more in the tank.
Need to see if he reverts back to type in tougher matchups, although with being weight drained he should have that snap back in his punches he was missing in his last few fights. He's always been good at KOing domestic and fringe world fighters. I'm more bothered about his skill set and hope to see improvements under McGirt in his next 2 fights.
And not having a rehydration clause imposed on him -- as Canelo is wont to do -- wouldn't exactly damage Smith's chances either.
It's a good win but can't erase the memory of how he got beaten up in his last fight in a pathetic defense of his title.
He got beaten up by the best fighter on the planet who is beating everyone up who steps in his path at the moment.
Easy to say now but he was absolutely dead at the weight and had 4/5 weeks notice. Showed great heart to stay in there too. Looking forward to Smith's run at 175.
Good to see him fighting looking at a healthy weight. Bivol next hopefully and i think he has a good chance
