Just read on the BBC boxing news that Callum Smith is going to defend his titles against Ryder who is apparently his mandatory? Being such a casual I don't know much about Ryder but I know he has his fans on here, pretty sure CST80 likes him.Does Ryder have a chance to cause an upset?
Big time chance. To my knowledge the only southpaw he's faced is Vladine Biosse, an he went the distance with him, and he warmed over dog**** compared to John. Ryder had a subpar debut at SMW against Fielding, he was cautious as hell, played it safe, but warmed to the occasion and managed to rock Fielding several times and arguably won it at best it was a draw. But ever since then he's honed his right hook to the point where it might be one of the most devastating punches at SMW, he destroyed and stopped Nielsen the only time in his career, then blasted Jamie Cox out in two, where it took Groves 4. Then he recently absolutely destoyed two undefeated very solid fighters in Akkawy and Sirotkin. He's a very dangerous opponent. https://www.boxingforum24.com/threa...kingdoms-most-underrated-middleweight.521209/
I'll be rooting for Ryder then for sure.Come to think of it I did see him against Jamie Cox. I don't see Smith stopping Ryder.
It’s not a bad fight at all. Ryder is no gimmie that’s for sure but I expect Smith to look good. I havent been this excited about a British fighter since Kevin Mitchell.
