    How...why...I just don't get it :confundio1:

How on earth does Junior beat Callum Smith, who has Eubank beat to make people think he could take his zero?? I get it with Groves, he's a big, classy 168 who can dig, but Eubank, seriously?

Personally i dont think he has the any of the defensive qualities to beat Eubank over 12. He is far to slow, lacks good footwork and head movement for a volume puncher like Eubank. He would barley give Cllum a second to drop that high guard and typical Tesco Joe tactics of tiring out opponents just wont work.

He would need a KO imo which given Eubanks huge flaws it is very possible

If Callum was not on his A game and Groves was he would properly lose, but never to Eubank. Eubank lacks power, defence is very good at what he does but is one dimensional and lacks a quality Jab. Callum Smith too big, too strong and hits too hard to body for Eubank who it should be remembered takes a minute plus of every round. Eubank would get badly hurt if they ever fight.

Or Tesco Joe has been reading the criticism on here of the lack of head movement from his fighters!

I get what you're saying mate, especially after that performance but I wouldn't say Smith was too slow...he's definitely very awkward and his lateral movement isn't great but he can step out of trouble and jab. Eubank doesn't have the pop to make him drop his guard either. Smith would really beat him up, and he has the power to stop him too. Eubank wobbled off a O'Sullivan shot, he's fighting bigger lads now and Callum is a very big 168.

Eubank has had opponents chosen for him since the Saunders defeat that either have poor movement or want to trade (or both). He's actually said he picked Yildirim because he's a lot like Abraham (plod forward, high guard, no movement). I rate Eubank but I've seen no evidence yet that he can trouble these bigger lads or even a 160 with excellent movement. His CV reflects that.

I m in the minority i think eubank beats smith. But smith has a decent shot against groves. Can just see groves getting caught with one of them hooks in the exchange. Skoglund faught a very good fight against smith tbf...very good on his feet. Wasnt great footwork but was good plus he was quick on his feet. Troubled smith. Became a bit hesitant with it then stopped comitting to the shots for a bit.

I still think eubanks underrated. Think groves will deal with him...not sure if anyone else in the tournament is capable tho unless this turks better than expected. Looks crazy enough anyway.

Just stick coke in the jack daniels twenty. No quite the same with lemonade in it.

Haha, thought you might be one of those that just adds a bit of water to it and drinks it straight.

Eubank's got a job on against Yildirim. He's more skilful, faster, higher workrate, punch output etc but that fella is not gonna stop marching forward and he hits very hard. Eubank won't stop him. He's going to have to concentrate for 12 rounds, nothing silly.

Well skoglund was landing the jab on smith all night long

If that was groves, it would be bang on smith in there, with the straight right coming in after, which is a good and powerful punch for groves, a lot of smiths performance will be due to a long lay off but I feel he's always been a bit overrated and he definitely still has plenty to work on and tighten up

Ha ha...na not manly enough for that yet mate. Takes me long enough to recover from a hangover with the pepsi in it nowadays.

Never seen this turkish guy yet but seen a bit of the press conference...looks well up for it. Also heard he was the guy that initially knocked degales teeth out prior to the jack fight. Could be interesting. Eubanks not really fought a lot of guys youthful with great engines. Could get interesting if someone can match his workrate. Thats my homework for this week...watch a few yildrums fights. Looks a bit of a loose cannon. Best thing about the tournament guys cant totally handpick opponents. Or its a limited pool to pick from anyway.

If Smith fought against an in form Groves like he did against Skoglund you are right he would have had alot of trouble with George's Jab and straight rights. But let's not forget George has stamina issues over 12 as he wastes energy during fight. Smith is much better up close than George, has world class body shots and George likes to trade to much. Unusually for such a tall fighter Smith is better up close than at range and Skoglund was smart he kept fight at range, George gets to brave and goes toe to toe and if he fights Smith it's unlikely he will change that habit.

I've watched a few of his fights now, I'm not particularly impressed with his style, he is very one dimensional. He is a big lad though and has operated at 175. He looks like he walks around at not far off 200ib. He will hold the centre of the ring and do all the stalking I reckon.
