This is very sad. I always like Brock and, apparently, he had bad luck in his surgery.

There are chances that he will be able to see again. I hope so.

You know the worst about this story is that brock didnt even need to fight. He had a great career as a banker (or something like that), and now due to fighting he is blind in one eye. Just goes to show you the risk these guys take in that ring.

No, I mean Corey Sanders who beat Maskaev a couple years ago, different fighter than Corrie Sanders who knocked out Wlad.

Easy to confuse these two tho, you are not the first and not the last ;)

Hope and pray guys, it is very common that after this kind of surgery the eye concerned loses total vision for a short term.. I see him returning .. I just hope .. It has happened to a few fighters that i know.. Gary Mason and Friday Ahunanya .. Frank Bruno also.. They have great vision today...

Horrible news. I never liked Brock really as a fighter, but he had the potential to be a good ambassador for the sport. And I don't want to see any fighter seriously hurt, ever.

Are there chances for full recovery from this sort of injury? I remember Ward had double vision for a while, that I think was cleared up?

I hope this is a temporary situation and Brock regains the sight to his eye. The man was a top Heavy and it saddens me greatly to hear this has happened to a fabulous fighter my prayers are with you Brock.

So sad to hear this. I hope Calvin makes a full recovery.

Hopefully, he will retire and pursue a career as an analyst. He would seem to be ideally suited for that role, as he and his father learned the game from textbooks and videos. If there's anyone who should be able to break down a fight in a way that's easy for fans to understand, it would be Brock.

    Very sad news:-(

This is why fighters DESERVE 2 BE PAID. The toll it takes on the body can be everlasting. Damn shame for Calvin.

I was wondering where Brock was and ran across this thread. I totally missed story at the time, very sad. Any more recent updates on Brock?? Not a great fighter but the kind of the guy the sport needs. Tragic ending to his career, hopefully things are going well for him.
