i think it is fair that calzaghe goes p4p no1 if he beats j jr and pacman loses to dlh,
    does anyone disagree????
and dont give me' why should pac go down the ranks for losing to a bigger dlh' because he choose to fight him and needs to except the consiquences on losing as did hatton when he lost to a bigger pbf,he dropped several places down the p4p list with out argument.

Because JMM is the #2 P4P fighter according to Ring Magazine.

Because he's my number two right now.

Calzaghe could have a case, but his performance against Jones would have to be dominant, and Pac would have to lose badly against De La Hoya.

Its also extremely harsh to drop Pac after jumping yet again to 147, but a case can be made that if the numero uno loses at all, he shouldnt be number one then. In that case I'd put JMM number one. My logic, not everyone will follow it, but the bottom line is P4P is a mythical, entirely flawed concept anyway.

You can not even come close to comparing pac fighting DLH to Hatton fighting Floyd. It's like comparing a vespa scooter to a hayabusa.

contrary to Hatton hugger popular belief, Floyd is not significantlly bigger than hatton. As a matter of fact the same hatton fans that today say that Floyd was just to big were saying the exact opposite when Hatton beat Tzyu. This board was littered with people saying that hatton was too strong and too physical for Floyd (who at the time was moving up from a weight class lower than Hatton). Hatton lost because he faced a better fighter not because he faced a bigger fighter.

Pacquiao on the other hand is waaaay smaller than DLH. He is jumping 2 weight classes only a very short time after already having jumped 2 weight classes.

    I would rate him #1.

Right now this is my list:

    #1 Manny Pacquiao
    #2 Joe Calzaghe
    #3 Bernard Hopkins
    #4 Juan Manuel Marquez

Depending on how bad Pac loses to Hoya, JMM will be No.1

On my list he is No.1 already, but anyway.........

p4p is stupid and absolutely meaningless, totally biased and impossible to accurately interperet.

why?, Roy Jones jr's last win against a legitimate opponet was over 5years ago against Tarver....

beating Roy is just money in your wallet, and name on your resume.....Roy hasn't accomlished anything in the past 5years, so why would someone get boosted to #1 if they beat him?

Nah...b/c Roy is expected to loose given that he is far past his best days. A win over Joe doesn't really do much given that this fight should have taken place a long long time ago. If DLH ko's PAC or beats him that is also expected and won't do much to PAC's status as P4P best...unless he gets completely blown out...even so he'll still remain in the top 5 IMO.
