The numbers don't tell the whole story round by round. The better quality was landed by Hopkins. It's like buying a big bag of dog food that's mostly filler with corn. Or buying a smaller, more expensive bag of another brand which is more nutritious and filling.
You are a fantasist as well as a liar. It was 2001 when Hopkins was mouthing off like an even bigger half wit than you ( believe it or not ) about Calzaghe during his pathetically low paid so called Middlewight tournament of which DeLaHoya had no part. Which was why he bottled the fight, and fought Daniels in February 2002 for peanuts. He then fought the **** Hakkar, Joppy, and Allen again for the 3rd time, and all for more peanuts before he got the fight with DLH 3 years after he first mouthed off, and agreed to the highest purse of his career up until that point before showing the same cowardly trait that he showed in the ring against Calzaghe when he finally got there I suggest you remove Jones Jr, and Hopkins genitalia from your mouth, and work extremely hard on both your stupidity, and propensity for lying.
actually if you did your research, you'd find that De La Hoya was part of a multifight deal and not a one off. come back when you've done the research, then you wont have to clutch at straws by trying to make me the liar. still lying about me liking jones, and Hopkins now too. ironically enough calling me the liar whilst you lie. for the nth time a lie fail from you.
Effing hell your fantasism knows no bounds. Oscar DeLaHoya was NOTHING to do with that so called Middleweight Unification tournament between Trindad, Joppy, Holmes, and Hopkins. Borenard had fought Daniels, and Hakkar, between Holmes and Trinindad and before facing Joppy, THEN Allen before facing DLH. At the start of the **** tournament Oscar had just beaten Gatti at Welter then went on to fight Vargas, Campas, and Mosley all at 154. Oscar had his first foray into the 160 division just 3 months before the Hopkins fight, which was made at 158, and was NOTHING to do with the " tournament " and as such was a one off. But you just keep on lying and fantasising about things, it gives people something to laugh at.
you are the only one to mention unification. You are like a diner who orders a ham sandwich and then complains theres no bacon in it.
Erm, no actually the whole of the boxing world knew it was originally a Middleweight Unification tournament between Hopkins, Holmes, Trinidad, and Joppy. With the obvious exception of ESB's resident fvckwit,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,YOU.
I've not mentioned unification, I repeat. You mentioned it. I have mentioned a multifight deal, that's all the argument I need.
I had it for Hopkins 114-113, and had no problems with Calzaghe getting the nod. It also happens to be one of my favorite fights in recent years.
Come on then **** for brains, lets see who the fighters in this so called " multifight deal were. Surely EVEN you aren't stupid enough to claim it was Oscar, and those other world renowned boxing legends Carl Daniels, Morrade Hakkar Howard Eastman and Robert Allen. LMFAO
I haven't said they were or werent in the multifight deal either. Ha. That's your bee to chase. And Eastman was in 2005 - why are you talking about a fight years ahead? don't lose your cool, it stops you thinking and you make errors and bad assumptions. Hopkins wanted the guaranteed $10 million from De La Hoya, not a possible £4m that wasn't going to happen from king of liars Wassen. He had to retain his undisputed MW title to keep De La Hoya interested. Joe has an unwanted wbo smw title by comparison. do the math.
When nothing significant happens in a round the winner should go to the one who clearly threw and landed more. I was replying to some poster who felt Hopkins won, and telling him the rounds he gave to Hopkins were incorrect.
the better quality ws indeed Hopkins, because he is a better quality skillswise fighter than joe who always lagged in % landedwhen facing top opps. but if a 40something spends half the fight gassed out, hes not really going to win, no matter how poor his oppoonents skills are.
