Meh, Jones rarely lost a round in his prime and wasn't nearly as active a puncher as Joe. He didn't need to be, he had more quickness, sick power and great movement.

Joe is a difficult guy to fight because he is unorthodox, and has a great workrate.. Jones was a difficult guy to fight because he was unorthodox, had insane speed, power and movement.. Kessler was able to slow Calzaghe down with some uppercuts, I think Jones put combinations together extremely well, and could rip body shots, had a great left hook to go along with that right hand. Really hard to guage Joe's defense, its very good.. But Jones' offense was his defense back then.. It seemed to work well enough, being that he rarely even lost a round.

Hearns was a better welter, a good Middle, a decent 168-175, Calzage avoiding the Hearns right hand beats him with his southpaw speed, Jones got KO'd Flush and cold bt 2 Lightheavys Tarver and Johnson, so Joe with his speed can do it, I want to see how Joe performs at 175

many of the top boxing guys I know always felt Jones had great skills, speed, power and legs but he fought scared vs McCallum and did not want to fight Darius Michaleski....Tarver showed us his weakness (Buddy said punch when he punches) and Johnson just repeated it, the way Jones went down, hard like a dead man, I got to say it should have happened before and will happen again, by the way Tarver and Johnson have not had too many one punch KO's before Jones or after him...

Could not have put it better. Prime RJJ dismantles Calzaghe and anyone else in history at that weight. But JC is the man and has proven himself to be an all time great.
