Hopkins body always has been a temple with that waist and those abs of his. Broad shoulders don't tell me anything because these may slow him down when he is to deliever and he will have to let those hands fly... Remember Mitchell and Calzaghe... I always said that Hopkins has stronger punching muscles and Calzaghe is all about speed and balance, but I'm mostly worried about Hopkins using his back legs. Can he step back faster and turn swiftly when Calzaghe jumps in? This content is protected This content is protected
' That's what makes this such an intriging fight so many questions that reamain unanswered until the first bell rings and its just two men in a ringed canvas:bbb
The only argument to consider (and it doesn't seem to be standing) is size. You can't talk about tactics or strategy because there's no reason for Calzaghe's camp to reveal them. Just because he says he isn't watching Hopkins doesn't mean it's true! Of course they watch his fights. They would be stupid not to.
Joe Calzaghe is not stupid..he does not underestimate openents. "He is always in shape, i.e is the King of the Gym" I like both fighters..
People get suckered for 'vanity' muscle that adds weight but is no help in a fight. Look at Kelly Pavlik. Weight/strength training needs to limited to areas that help in the fight when you have weight classes.
Incredible really. They are of similar height and bone structure and will probably walk out on Saturday fairly evenly weighted. Hopkins (and Kessler too) obviously look far more muscled than Calzaghe though. Where does Calzaghe carry this extra weight if it isn't in his upper body? Or is Hopkins just considerably smaller from the waist down (no, not **** size)?
I couldn't agree more. One of the worst post ever, wrong on so many levels. He needs to stick to the lounge.
Are you, in fact, ******ed??? Say that Trinidad, DLH, and Wright were blown-up middleweights...do that if you must, but NEVER question their credentials...that's just ******ed, and I now must say that YOU ARE ******ED. This post is the biggest piece of **** I've ever read. You think Echols is a bum? He knocked out Charles Brewer (who gets all types of accolades from you Europeans) in 3 rounds, a year before Calzaghe beat him by UD. Now Echols is no good...then Charles Brewer is WORTHLESS. Be logical. You can disagree, but be logical. Stop acting like some bitter idiot who knows nothing about boxing. It's starting to get annoying.
