Not too long ago, Calzaghe said that he doesn't do rematches when asked about a rematch with Hopkins. Apparently, he's decided to ammend this policy. In the event that he loses to Jones, both parties have agreed to a rematch. I can only hope that Roy beats him so bad that he doesn't want a rematch.

Not a knockout, but a points win.

Smart business move...I think that fighters should always have a rematch clause when they are in position to get one...Being honest here if Jones beats Joe he would most likely not fight him again seeing that a fight with Hopkins would bring much much money. And at the ages that Hopkins and Jones are 40+ every fight can and should be there last fight

Joe couldn't 'brutally ko' his dad, let alone RJJ.

Rematch clauses should be banned. They are completely unneccesary, and many times end up being a waste of time. If there is a real close and/or controversial decision, one of the sanctioning bodies and/or the public will demand a rematch. I don't even know how Calzaghe would enforce a rematch clause given that only the ring belt is at stake.

Great picture of Foreman for your avatar. People can't wonder why he hit so damn hard after checking out the size of him. Heh. He's "Big" George for a reason!

If only he was as confident, then he wouldn't have negotiated a rematch clause.

Yes they do hold things up from time to time...However put yourself in a the shoes of a fighter...However the bodies or the public demanded a fight means sh*ts..The public demanded a rematch between Oscar and Pea didnt happen, and we all know that fighters give up belts all the time so they dont have to fight a guy that they dont want to fight. Rematch clauses have some teeth not many maybe it looks like meth mouth:!: but it has some teeth.
