Helen! Don't be indifferent, it doesn't suit you. And yet for all this bluster and bombast, I'm sure I read this wonderfully eloquent gentleman contributing the mature, objective pearl of wisdom to this forum yesterday: "**** Hopkins". A monosyllabic moron who must have been without his thesaurus at that point and allowed his true worser side to emerge. A hate-filled little inadequate. The only thread I have read of yours is this pile of old tampax, my posting embarrasses yours in terms of boxing content and intelligent observations. You think Jones and Hopkins are equally shot, plus you haven't seen any boxing matches. In short, I don't know why you're here other than to try and start arguments: "you're my ***** lol". What a sad specimen. Oh Helen. :hi: :hi: atsch atsch :hi: :hi:
Lol at this thread. In fairness though I believe Socrates has completely OWNED PACFAN in this one :good
Calzaghe maniacs stick together. Socrates started a thread that made no sense, was slapped into place by a few knowledgable fans, tried to make some woeful point about Hopkins being as shot as Jones, was ridiculed, then when he realized his boxing point stank worse than a festering corpse, he got personal, received more derision for trying and failing to sound intelligent, and was finally exposed as Helen Keller, the inventor of the Braille reading system, as he knows as much about boxing as her since she has never seen a fight either. Yes, owned indeed!! :good
Worst Comment Of The Week. Comparing Hopkins to Jones just now shows you know nothing about boxing. PACFAN is right, you're a turd and this thread sucks.
Calzaghe should get credit not for winning the fight, but at the age of 36 still being nothing like shot. The longevity is outstanding. I find it hard to imagine a shot Calzaghe, only a reduced version which we are slowly seeing.
Didn't take you long did it. I like reading your posts but sometimes your obsession with Calzaghe goes into overdrive and people can see through your hypocrisy. It's one rule for Joe and one rule for others a lot of times. Deny it all you want but your obvious dislike for Calzaghe clouds your judgement on him.
What does any of that have to do with Socrates's awful thread and ridiculous comparison between Hopkins and Jones? Owned?! Your own bias/dislike/agenda is far more transparent than what you perceive mine are against Calzaghe. There isn't really anything else I can say to you on the Joe C subject, I can't really get annoyed at the fact you're just wrong. As I've said a million times, I rate Joe, I think he has great ability, but I value resume very highly and therefore I will never rate him as highly as most of the fanatical fanboys on here. If that's hate, then we all hate a million fighters as I simply don't rate him that highly and dislike the majority of his fans. It's getting dull explaining this every day. I wish this forum wasn't so packed with the "hugger/hater" brigade who jump on people for every strong opinion.
As I just see that Tupac fan and his inane ranting all the way through, I will agree with Socrates commenst regarding Hopkins/Jones/Calzaghe, Calzaghe had the relentless style, footwork, rapid hand speed, chin and power to beat Jones in his prime... Jones also liked to stand off, and use his speed to pick an opponent off, and dive in with flurries that people couldn't cope with... with Calzaghe, this would never have happened, and Jones would be fighting a fight he couldn't win, people like Hopkins, Toney et all were ideal for Jones style, throw him in with a prime Calzaghe, its a whole new ball game.
That's just bias talking, plain and simple. In what fights exactly did Joe Calzaghe show you the attributes that make you think he could beat the Roy Jones of 1994-96 at 168?
I already stated my reason, and Joes attributes now are enough to cope with a prime Jones, his style would nullify Jones threat, and Jones would tire, he didn't have the defensive skills of Hopkins, he was all reactions and offence, calzaghe does have a good defence, an iron clad chin, and more than enough stanima to pound Jones into exhaustion, though a prime Joe would KO him. Its all hear say anyway, but I truly believe that, and on that basis I think I am right, Jones never fought a Calzaghe like fighter, and in Collins, he avoided someone who was relentless too.
i must interject here, isnt it satisfying to see a supposed boxing wizz i.e pacfan cannot now go a post without mentioning my username in response to other posters... my work is done here,"under your skin" indeed i think is the term. he also is now himself trying oh so hard to sound intelligent while criticising me for doing so,imitation is the sincerest form of flattery pacfan but it does you no favours especially towards one who has complete nonchalance in all things YOU... when addresing ones superiors i would appreciate a little courtesy and self awareness more befitting ones station, your sardonicism and obtuseness not to mention inability to sound nothing other than offended leaves one with a wry smile and nothing other than satisfied,im sensing a little tension in the frontal lobe pac my man is your autism playing up again?can we rename you the rainman?would you like to count matchsticks?and can i take you to a casino? now let me put this to you: Am I getting smart with you? How would you know?
You're nothing but a Pac fanatic. You dis Cal because some people think he is pfp best. PAc is a fraud champion. If he fights Hatton as I've been telling you, he will be off my pfp list period. I'm tired of him going after the money, and not fighting guys like Nate Campbell or Guzman and Valero at 130. You and the Pac fanatics keep on using Barrera, Morales and J.m.M as justification of his resume, and you can't mention any of those other fighters on his resume because they are bums. When PAc fights someone in his prime or a fighter of Hop's caliber, let us know. Hop is greater than Barrera, Morales and J.M.M today even at his advanced age. Pac is going to fight Dlh and then possibly Hatton. That is sick:dead And this is after Floyd fought them. A year or two later...Pac fights Floyd's left overs... Tell PAc to gamble it all and fight AM. I think he can beat AM.
His defense and body punching. I would pick Jones over Cal in his prime, but don't act like it is Gary coleman fighting the Hulk.
