your right they are mere underlings from a parallel universe sent to infiltrate your sensory perceptions whilst mimicing two green ATG fighters at the early stages of their respective careers

i love these responses, the melodramacy, the inability to refrain from personal attacks etc ahhhhhh the sheer frivolity of it all...

When is Roy Jones going to avenge his brutal KO loss to Glen Johnson?

Roy has fought nobody since his 2nd loss to Tarver.

im merely a concerned spectator, there are no wisecracks here..

sarcasm and sardonicism are not the most desireable qualities when one is trying oh so hard to endear himself to his superiors,i would appreciate a little courtesy when addressing me thankyou!

you people are creating an argument which completely overlooks what this thread is attempting to get across, hopkins has proved me to be correct maybe jones can too, your advice and presence was appreciated.

    im out c'ya

That's because you're delusional and aren't able to see what everyone else sees and that's Roy Jones Jr. is shot he's not the same fighter he was 6 years ago.:deal

Is a 39 yr old Jones suppsoed to fight like a 29 yr old? Wasn't Hopkins shot after the Calzaghe fight ? I think its a bit premature to call someone shot considering they have a marque fight coming up !

physically he aint the same but the same very rd you're talking about in rd 5 vs. tarver, he was whooping tarver, hurt him but was too scared to press him. jones got mentally weak after what tarver did to him. but since hes been winning fights, albiet against weak competition, he gotten more confidence. jones is a cocky fighter. and against calzaghe, he has enoguh to beat him. calzaghe is not a bigger puncher, in fact jones is the one with the power to hurt calzaghe. if he can counter punch well enough, he call pull it off.

Hopkins changed his style, he didn't just become far poorer at everything but keep fighting in the same style, except with a cool new Winky peek-a-boo guard action. Plus Hopkins has been fighting the best opposition in the world over the past few years and has never lost decisively.

Hopkins took the world p4p#2 to a split decision this year.

Jones hasn't fought a world top 10 ranked opponent in over 3 years.

That someone has signed to fight him to make big bucks is irrelevant in correctly perceiving the condition that Jones is in these days.

Watch the round again and watch Jones at the end of the round. He is not scared or traumatized - he is exhausted! He looks like he's just ran a marathon! That isn't mental.

He has been fighting a low level of opposition for 3 years and has fooled people into believing he can still fight. You'll see come Nov 8th.

Watch the fights chum, watch them fights. You'll see, you'll get it in the end.

Watch Jones v Tarver II, Jones v Johnson, Jones v Tarver III, Jones v Prince Nobody, Jones v Hanshaw, Jones v Trinidad.

Then watch Hopkins v Tarver, Hopkins v Wright, Hopkins v Calzaghe, Hopkins v Pavlik.

Surely fighting Pavlik would've been the easiest option available to him...?

On a more serious note, this is his last fight and can you think of a higher grossing last fight out there for JC?

    I can't.

Lets not also forget that Hopkins is a 100 times more fundimentally sound than Jones ..Its the reason he's been able to keep going at the level he is for so long ..Jones relied on natural reflexes with age that dwindles ..Im sure if Jones had fought like Hopkins for all these yrs he would be exactly where Bernard is now ..Now if Jones ends up beating Joe in a a convncing fashion all the doubt is gone ..What we have seen from Jones in his last 3 fights is more of a defensive fighter first ..I wouldn't expect Jones to fight in 08 like he did in 1998 ..

The Calzaghe fight will be the meter to let us know how far he has gone or how much he has left ! Lets also not forget that for all the top 10 fighters Bernard has recently beat Jones did it long before the Execuioner decided to leave his beloved 160 lb divsion !

to you it looked like exhaustion but it looked like he was holding back too. call it what you want but fact is, jones still has the hand speed and the power to surprise calzaghe. just look at hopkins-pavlik. you just never know sometimes.

i am not even debating about wether he is on the slide that is evident due to age but so is joe(**** dont you people get anything) read the thread again, hopkins inadvertantly has proved me right, is it beyond the realms of possibility that jones could too?

lets see how jones does first.
