All I heard from people on this forum after Calzaghe fought Lacy was criticism in relation to him chasing Taylor(even though this was the path set for Lacy should he have beaten Calzaghe) was that he was ducking Kessler.

Kessler this Kessler that. When Calzaghe agreed to fight Kessler many were of the opinion that Kessler would win.

Now after that victory a large proportion of idiots have came out the woodwork tearing Kessler down. There were few if any discerning voices prior to this.

Same with the Lacy revisionism.

The same would happen with Dawson. For that win to have any major value, Dawson would have to come back to achieve something. It lacks value as of now(even though I myself rate Dawson very highly).

In short, I can see why Calzaghe would prefer a money spinning bout with Pavlik - bigger money and probably bigger credit.

 

Wahay great news. Thats what its all about. Maybe Hatton can grow some balls like JC and take his fight with Witter.

 

i do agree on your points..its just a few that would give credit then same with other fighters taking the money path

 

Clinton Woods versus Joe Calzaghe would sell big in the UK, there's a lot of money to be made from that. In the USA Pavlik, RJJ or Chad Dawson would probably make more money, but in the UK the Woods fight is the big one.

Also, Woods is a good fighter who could make Joe bring out his best in order to win, like Jeff Lacy or Mikkel Kessler did. I'd really like to see that fight happen.

Woods - Calzaghe in November, then one final goodbye fight in early 2008 against Roy Jones, Kelly Pavlik or Chad Dawson.

 

True enough mate and maybe I shouldn't take notice of the numb skulls - I try and avoid even conversing with them on this site.

I just want to see JC get some credit. He doesn't deserve half the criticism he gets on this forum.
