Im not saying he would have beat RJJ. But i do think Calzaghe is a very special fighter. And around the time of his Kessler fight. If he was to have fought a prime RJJ then, he would have lost by probably around 4 rounds, UD.

Calzaghe has a fantastic chin. I haven't seen a fighter match his work rate in a long time. The angles he gets, i haven't seen before.

I also think Joe is going to stop Roy in the early to middle rounds.

I think Jones would've beaten him 9 rounds to 3 or thereabouts.

Jones would have scored a UD peak for peak, a good fight with Jones a clear winner.

Next month I think we'll see the reverse, though I'm pullling for a Jones KO.

Personally I'm not into giving credit to boxers for match ups they were clearly unwilling to get themselves into (they know their limits better then us). KO round one to Roy for Calzaghes poor effort.

I think Roy's speed back then would of given him shin splints. Roy was one of the fastest mofos I ever seen in a ring. Calzaghe was never that fast.

Joe with healthy hands, and Roy with a healthy mind, would have been competitive :D

Roy wouldnt have blown out or destroyed Joe. Would have been one of his harder fights but there is no way Joe would have beaten him.

Potential competitive shut out. Meaning a dominate scoreline but not a dominate overall win, close rounds but Roy wins just about all of them.

i would Joe a decent shot at beating Roy in Prime vs. Prime. Joe was just as fast and had (still has) one the best work rates in boxing. I think Roy would have struggled to keep up with the pace of Joe. now Joe will win be UD

He makes every round competitive prime for prime and may take 2 or maybe 3, but I can't see him doing any better than that against peak Jones.

I never saw a prime Jones look even remotely tired after 12 rounds, even after Hopkins and Toney. It was pretty obvious to anyone that watched the fight that a prime Hopkins would have owned a prime Calslappy....prime Jones would have done the same only worse. Back when the fight really mattered Jones would have just beaten Calslappy up, mid rounds TKO if you ask me.

Their fight next month will determine who would've won back in their primes.
