Thoughts on Calzaghe's career, and will he comeback in the future? Thoughts please. Just moments ago he officially announced his retirement.
Its still a bit early yet, though his name appeared here often enough even when he was active. With the way fighters make comebacks these days, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if we saw him again at some point.
I hope he stays retired while he still has his faculties and enjoys his money. Too many fighters have not done this. Perhaps get himself a job as a talk show host or something.

Thanks for that Robbi.I hope he stays true to his word,he can only go down if he continues ,nearly 37 he has had a great career ,and if he stays retired will be one of the few ,never to taste defeat as a pro.
Calzaghe has had an excellent career thus far, and probably will in due course challenge Buchanan for the best post World War II British fighter, and will I suspect comfortably sit in the all-time British top 10 list. But that is for the future; lets see if he has kept to his word (about retirement) 15/20 years down the line, before we truly start trying to define him.
Good for him, he has an excellent record of title defences and beat some good fighters in his career and finished well 46-0 class act
