Hypothetical, since nobody thinks B-Hop gets stopped. Let's say Calzaghe starts off fast from the opening bell, brutalises B-hop for 5 rounds at a high pace, then B-hop retires in his corner. What kind of credit does Joe get?
This is how dumb some fans are. We KNOW what version of Hopkins Calzaghe will be facing, not a 'shot' Hopkins per say, just a very declined version that gets by on experience and skill, so a tricky veteran of huge name and huge durability and skill. If Hopkins wins even 3-4 rounds and loses, Calzaghe would get some credit for the win. Now, SAME Hopkins, Calzaghe TKO's him in 3 rounds and Hopkins is a bloody mess, Calzaghe gets NO CREDIT for this, because then the idiots finally see Hopkins as very declined to near-shot. It's funny, I'm only going to give credit for a Calzaghe stoppage domination, they would give more if it's competitive.
I don't care how old Hopkins is, if anybody brutalised him, whoever is responsible deserves MAD PROPS. Hopkins was outclassed once when he was green by a fighter called Roy Jones. If Calzaghe stops Bernard, people really need to pay attention.
The more I talk about it and the more I watch their most recent fights -- I'm thinking that Hopkins is going to win. I think Frank Warren is prepared for Calzaghe losing ... The proof is in the pudding ... Hamed ... then Hatton ... now Calzaghe ... both came to the US, both were undefeated, and both lost. They both were surrounded with the hype and the hype deflated once they got beat.
People thought MAB was washed up when before he beat Hamed ??? hmm? I'm going to go with Hopkins ... or as Tito would say it Hop-keens
I disagree. The most likely scenerio is a UD for Calzaghe. Nobody has ever stopped Hopkins so what makes you think Calzaghe will do it, who is by no means the biggest puncher Hopkins has faced? You can only judge a fighter on his last performance, and Hopkins defeated Winky Wright.
If this happens which it won't, I'll make Cal clear #2 on my p4p list! I'll even have him up in my avatar for a month!
Acumulation stoppage, Hopkins will be exhausted from the high pace, he lacks the footspeed he used to have and can't control the foot movement that Calzaghe will set.
Hopkins is notorious for his fitness, and like I said, has never even looked like being stopped before. I think saying he will be stopped is way off the mark, but it'll be interesting to see how things unfold in the next month.
Enough said ... Hop-keens by decision I remember the same talk of Hamed doing that against Barrera --
The circumstances are slightly different however. Hamed was notorious for his punching power and explosive style, wheras Calzaghe prefers to systematically breakdown his opponent. Calzaghe doesn't have knockout power, and whereas Barrera had already been knocked out once in his career, Hopkins has never been hurt.
there's nothing different in this case ... you can compare styles all you want ... but the facts are they both came in with hype and both took defeats. Yeah you can compare styles but what good does that do ... Hatton and Hamed had different styles ... selfkill you should like you're making excuses ... I have a point -- I have a point -- I have a point -- I have a point -- I have a point -- I have a point.
