why risk it?plus if he got to 49-0 i dont think he'd be able to resist attempting 50-0.

Personally, if Calzaghe wins and chooses to match Rocky's mark, then he could do it against anyone he damn well chooses after Roy. Hell, I wouldn't even bothered if he fought Contender or Prizefighter stars for the last three fights. He would already have Jones, Hopkins, Kessler, Bika, Lacy, Veit, Reid, and Eubanks under his belt. The man would have secured his legacy in a way no European fighter has in a long time. Sure, Dawson would be great, but I'd be happy with anyone a decent quality at that point. He probably will call it quits after RJJ, if he wins. All fighters want to go out on top, even if only a few do.

for pure history...i would go for 49-0 . but some athletes dont care about history like fans do. take barry sanders and jim brown in football who could have just wrecked history books but quit in their prime.
ricardo lopez quite at like 50-0-1 . no one talks about him because he was 105 pounder. plus that "ugly" draw on the clean record.

I would rather see him fight Dawson next. Then, depending on who Hopkins fights next, Cal should fight the winner. Then, he should fight 2 more depending on who is the biggest attractions at the time
