    "scene" this news elsewhere.

Calzaghe may be coming back for a fight in the UK on the back of his "drug shame".

Robin reid is being mooted as the opponent but personally I think that would be a nonsensical choice.

    CALZAGHE :happy:happy:happy

well i was in favour of him staying in retierment, because he quit to look after his health, but apparently he dosent give a **** about that anymore. will he be a super-middle or light-heavy if he does come back?

I think he should come back against Wicky Hatton. Fighters can come in at any weight, the only stipulation is that both fighters must consume at least 10 pints of Guiness or strong Lager, and 2 grams of chisel each in the 2 hours before the fight. My money's on Wicky.

To be fair, the article says that Reid is a possible opponent.

Then goes onto say that they don't know if Calzaghe is in on the idea or not.

If Calzaghe doesn't know about it I'm sure there's been no word of potential opponents.

Stew (Longcount) alluded to this the other day. I highly doubt Reid will be the final choice in a comeback fight, but if he is then I can see the GF being clogged with Calzaghe threads for weeks! If it's a one-off fight then it might as well be a big name, but I wouldn't begrudge JC a 'warm-up' opponent first.

'Cocaine' Calzaghe V 'Randy' Reid. Boxing will always continue to surprise you:lol:.

Im pretty sure barry silkman was calzaghe's partner in Calzaghe promotions. Anyway this "rumour" is surely a good sign for Calzaghe fans although it might mean another trip to wales

But if he comes back it has to be a decent fight.

    Calzaghe vs Eubank...

  14. with his lifestyle out of the ring since he retired i don't think he should come back esp against any of the top young lhw's or smw's.

if he does come back, that 0 may go
