even the mere fact that he made this statement means that he is getting the itch to fight again.

Bottom line is when it came to "put up/shut up time" JC ran like a little girl. :deal

But, let me tell you something an unnamed source of mine had. Just a gut feeling of theirs. After Kelly beats AA, JC comes out of retirement. Interesting he should throw the $10 mill figure out since that was the offer.

I hate Calazghe but Pavlik wouldn't be able to win one round against him, c'mon.

Sure - if Floyd Mayweather decided to outdo Pacquaio's achievements and bounce up a few weight classes, that could net Joe 10 mil.

Personally I think he just stays retired, there isn't anyone out there at 168 or 175 who offers him enough, Dawson will be beaten by Johnson and that'll be about it for undefeated prospects calling his name with a legitimate challenge.

Bottom line is Kelly Pavlik ruined his chance at Calzaghe by losing to Hopkins. What point was there for Calzaghe to go after Pavlik after that? Seriously.

Calzaghe is a 37 yr old man, 46 fights, 24 of them were title fights - why does he need to be hungry for fighters who are already beaten? They add nothing to his legacy.

Agreed, and Hopkins was itching for this fight, so if there's any truth to this, it could happen.

The styles matchup would've served well in selling this fight, I think?

lol... Calzaghe got about 6000 people to fly to Las Vegas to watch the Hopkins fight. Probably about the same for Jones in NYC. He got 50,000 to buy tickets for the Kessler fight.... 30,000 to watch Manfredo for **** sake!! He's a ticket seller and gets bums on seats.... Apart from Hatton and ODLH, how many other people gets people through the door like the numbers Calzaghe constantly does?

I don't see Pavlik selling anything by himself to this point - Taylor was an HBO project so had extra promotion going into him which meant better sales.

If I recall correctly, Pavlik hasn't broken the 350k barrier against a fighter who hasn't already broken the 350k buys barrier.

The styles make for a horrible fight in my view - Pavlik is a powerful puncher but easily nullified against good defensive boxers, his handspeed was shown up by Hopkins which doesn't bode well.

Calzaghe would coast to a 12 round victory, I just don't see where Pavlik is better except Power.

Calzaghe has the better jab, the better defense, the faster hands, the better in fighting, the better footwork.

The Hopkins rematch makes more sense - also if Johnson beat Dawson, that fight would make sense too.

lol - Exactly, Hatton is the only other guy in the world that gets bigger live audiences at his fights.

Since the Lacy fight, Calzaghe has sold out every venue he's fought in, regardless of the guy he fought against.

Didn't he make in the realm of 8 million USD to fight Kessler and around 10 million USD to fight Hopkins when live gate was taken into account?

If Pavlik had beaten old man Hopkins like he was supposed to, Calzaghe probablly would have fought him. We all know what happened though. Pavlik got taken to school in the most extreme and embarrasing way imaginable.
