calzaghe comeback???

Nobody near Calzaghe's weight class is even close enough to being a big enough draw to getting him a $10M purse, especially considering what a horrible draw Calzaghe himself is in terms of US numbers.

And 10 million quid is completely out of the question.

 

Personally, I think he is retired for good. The time for Pavlik has passed because I doubt he could make 168 again now. That could have entered into his thinking with RJJ. He probably didn't want to make 168 and had said Pavlik was the only fight he would return to 168 for.

 

Pavlik isn't worth a fight for Joe - he became damaged when Hopkins pretty much dismantled him. Pavlik is still considered a threat despite that - but should he lose to Joe Calzaghe, he just becomes another "But he was already beaten" or "He was overhyped anyway" fighter without really increasing Calzaghe's living style to any great degree

Calzaghe won't come back - like he said in an interview in regards to the Cotto fight - he misses the excitement, the atmosphere and being in the ring - then he looks at the weigh in and remembers all the bull**** you go through to make weight and he doesn't want to do that again.

 

I'd still love to see him face Dawson and hosting a farewell match on his own turf would generate alot of interest, equaling a fatter payday than a match with Dawson would otherwise bring.

I wouldn't mind seeing a Hopkins rematch, but I don't see the point. A ton of people don't give him much credit for the first time even though Hopkins sandwiched it between 3 other very good to great LHW performances. That's the paradox of Bernard Hopkins- even when you beat him, you still lose.

Froch would be an entertaining fight, too.

 

Dawson and Froch are the only fights that make any sense in my view, but I get the feeling Dawson is about to lose to Johnson and if Froch gets Kessler or Bute, he's about to lose too.

Hopkins - too much effort, not enough reward.

 

Stay retire Calzaghe plz

wouldnt say easy. Froch has tremendous grit and determination and Heart and Power. Calzaghe would prob have to battle hard for 12 rounds...but yeh, i c calzaghe winning.

 

It will be easy and easier than the Lacy fight too. Calzaghe TKO7.

 

calzaghe isnt boring as he is safe. he needs to stay retired. even undefeated he isnt near the top of any lists of the greatest.

 

I think he should fight Void.
