Calzaghe didn't slap last night

    Just sad watching the fight again and I noticed that Calzaghe didn't use his "trademark" slapping style :)

    And with good reason, that would have squared him up to a very nasty straight Kessler counterpunch and that would have been the end of the fight!

    I never saw a fight where Calzaghe didnt slap and I think he was wise in not slapping.

    it was because his hands were in the best condition they have been in in a long time.

    Well people have argued that his problems with his hands was from the slapping-style

    Interesting. Good obsevation:yepThat would/could explain it:good I think in the 3rd round he threw a few slaps but that was it. Since i like both fighters i am happy Joe won. He is a good guy and a GREAT fighter:hat

    Massive credit to Calzaghe. IMO, that was too easy for him. IMO, he easily showed to be a whole other level of fighter than Kessler.

    As pointed out he has to square up to throw those slapping punches and that would of left him wide open to a Kessler right hand counter .
