Well -- if you can't dispute the facts with research, direct quotes, time lines, et, I guess the lesser intelligent members of the species have no recourse but to turn to inane insults.
Yep, agreeing with people now makes you a homo on here, apparently. Can I be bothered to list the Calslappy sack swingers that agree with the ***** that made that post....nah, **** it.
Just saw his interview on Steve Bunces boxing hour on Setanta and the way JC said it, is nothing like everyone is making it out to be. It was nothing so honestly everyone should relax. I'm sure on the radio it was taken from bunce's interview. Setanta also called Pavlik to question him about JCs two offers to which he denied but seemed very hesitant. I believe that his people didn't even tell him of these offers. Pavlik seemed like a very nice person on the phone and honest. But in JCs interview he was adament that he offered Pav a fight twice. I don't think neither is lying.
Calslappy has lied time and time again his whole career about wanting nothing but big fights whilst taking the path of least resistance. Pavlik has no history of that kind of behaviour to my knowledge, so I know who I believe.
I saw that interview and Calzaghe is bang on the money. Americans as so desperate for a big boxing star, they can't have the heavies so they've latched onto Pavlik. They tried to make Taylor their poster boy but that got shot down pretty quickly so it was on to the next guy. Pavlik.
The inteviews were ore recorded so I dunno, but on setanta it was nothing like some on here are making out to be.
So, does that explain why Joe offered Kelly a fight in 2006 when Kelly was recovering from hand surgery and his best win was Zuniga?
Who you choose to believe might not be the truth or it might be who knows. You can't 100% know weather is Pav is lying or not and vice versa for JC, tho JC was very adament. I think it will happen if they both win.
I thought this thread was about America having a relatively poor talent pool and being desperate for a new boxing hero? Its touchy subject I see... With the Germans it was always "don't mention The War", maybe with the Yanks it should be "don't mention The Olympics"?:huh
JC is ALWAYS adamant, like he was adamant that Jones was scared to fight him back in 2001 One of these guys is a lying cowardly **** and always has been, so I'll believe the other guy.
Yes I bet the Americans are gutted they don't have fighters that are succesful at the Olympics. Like Audley Harrison and Amir Khan  Did Calslappy ever win an olympic medal, by the way :huh
In the over all context the "shallow talent pool" is part of Joe's excuse for blatantly ducking Pavlik. He said that's the only reason Pavlik is a star. and you defended that non sense.
Come on, you've got to admit that this ridiculous veneration of Pavlik is def. connected with the lack of young, American talent at the higher weights. Its obvious!!
