not as far as i know. but joe is reaching the end of his expiry date so i wouldn't be surprised if warren wanted to cash in.
I've been in the ring plenty of times, but not competitively or to a great level just a hobby. I'm just saying, anybody with a functioning brain would take that fight with Mayweather on those terms, boxer or otherwise. I'm not Danish. I can speak Danish and I have ties to Denmark.
that's fine. so why are you labelling me as a "keyboard gangster" to be dismissive? i've neverv mentioned a fight with mayweather we were talking about something different.
UK boxings level has remained the same (if not a wee bit better), US boxings level has decreased, that is all he is saying. I'm not saying UK boxing is better, hell i think that for such a small country to produce so many past and present champs is amazing. You can't really compare a country that is smaller than one of America's states to the whole of America. Anyways back to my point, does anyone here truely believe that the talent coming through today is equal or better than the talent America has produced in the past??? I think not, be interesting to get some thoughtout opinions on this, i think since the decline of boxing the numbers going through the gyms has dwindled and the talented athletes who would of went to a boxing gym in the past go into other sports. PS. Getting lots of great American talent coming through it vital for the sport, not just one fighter here an there, we need a whole heap of talent coming through (as in the past 70s,80s etc..)
Well, I assume Mayweather is one of the guys you were referring to regarding Hatton. I don't think it takes balls of steel or is worthy of "massive respect" to take a fight with Mayweather for that sort of risk/reward ratio. Say if Taylor fought Froch instead of Lacy, that would be deserving of it in my opinion I didn't label you a keyboard gangster. I was talking about all the people on here that talk **** about various boxers - as they are entitled to I might add. You seem to think that if I dare question anything its because I havn't fought or don't understand, which is patronising in the extreme.
i'm willing to give your dues if you'll do the same. you were labelling me a keyboard gangster (yes i know its baby ****) which is why youm got my response. if you check any of my posts you'll see that i'll respond to people the same they do to me. i prefer that you question anything you don't agree with - but do it directly, not dismissively.
That is what he is saying Dude seriously how do you know he is making judgements cause he never made the leap to the US etc.....?? You're dissecting this too much; the original poster, posted JC saying....."Kelly Pavlik is overrated because the U.S. boxing talent pool is so weak that the public in the states thinks Kelly is better than he really is." Well i think KP is a tad overrated, thats just my opinion, but the second part i agree with, i wouldn't have choosen 'weak' but certainly not as good as yesteryear. Boxers say **** all the time, its just a something he said, it is what it is, nothing more nothing less.
Maybe we should try Danish to get this across easier :yep I didn't label you a keyboard warrior man! I was using a comparison between me and the rest of the people on this site who question fighters - I was referring to us as keyboard gangsters. It doesn't mean we don't all fight or don't understand. We vent our opinions here thats all. I told you what I don't agree with. That Hatton gets "massive respect" for the things he's done, and I've told you why. I have a certain degree of respect for anyone that gets in the ring, but I don't think Hatton's matchmaking takes it to "massive respect" levels in all honesty. Most of its been very poor opposition, the best ones on their last legs, until he finally stepped up his game against Mayweather which was completely no risk from a reputation point of view and a huge gain financially. Not once did he take on a lower reward/high risk fight that would get him massive respect amongst hardcore fans. Infact, he avoided it at ALL costs with Witter.
Dude seriously i don't get your point/case. Basically you are saying JC said this because he never fought in the US earlier????? What??? Seriously i just don't get it. You decline to really answer my post and ask another q.
good post. hatton did it on his last legs because he got away from warren. hatton never avoided witter because witter never put himself on the line the same way hatton did in his career. the witter's and eubank's of this world will always be talked about in a "what if" fashion on UK boards, but the botom line is that if you're not prepared to put your balls on the line then you have to accept what comes with it. og min dansk er ikke en hundred procent. jeg kommer fra australian.
Boo started a thread yesterday asking if anyone had heard anything from Pavlik. He has been stone silent. So, this is not HIS problem.
The date with RJJ wasn't set when Pavlik called him out. As far as I remember Pavlik and his team were calling out Calzaghe right after his fight with Hopkins, they also mentioned they're interested in fighting Calzaghe even before his fight with Hopkins when he said in an interview that he WON'T fight RJJ and would consider Pavlik instead. As it's clear now, he chose RJJ instead and Pavlik's team are showing even more interest by moving up to Light heavyweight, let's see what Calzaghe will say after his fight with RJJ.
