I think we all already know what he'll say...it'll be along the lines of "see I've proven I was always better than Hopkins and Jones, they always ducked me, and now I'm retiring as I've run out of old me...erm legends to kill"

That's providing he beats Jones of course. I hope Jones puts the **** to sleep in brutal fashion.

Witter was there while Hatton was a WBU turkey asking for a fight. Was Witter a lesser fighter than Tackie, Vilches, Stewart, Pedersen? Are they lesser names in Britain? Doubtful. Do they bring more money? Doubtful. Hatton's excuses were bull**** here.

There were opportunities inbetween Tszyu, Castillo, Mayweather too.

Ask yourself this. How do two fighters from Britain living 100km away from each other in the same weight class get to "champ" and #1 in a division without ever having fought? It's a disgrace and unexplainable.

    Perkekt min Australske broder :good

I'm sure there are alot of people who are hoping right now that the old saying "every great fighter has one great fight in them left" is true after Joe's comments. As an American I'm a bit incensed but at the same time what can I say really? Joe beat the guys I wanted him to fight and he's never lost to an American fighter.

I got caught up in the Lacy hype and picked Lacy like the majority of the boxing public and Joe basically ended his career.

After Kessler easily dismissed Beyer and Andrade I thought he was the real force to be reckoned with at 168. Calzaghe adjusted and outworked him over the 12 rounds. I sat there amazed that Joe was able to raise the intensity level at his age to beat a young, hungry sharpshooter like Kessler. Truly Joe's best win to date and it made me never doubt Joe again. Just cuz I'm not European doesn't mean I don't know that Kessler has the goods.

the distance is immaterial once you're in the limelight.

oportunities after tszyu might have been feasible but once hatton hit US soil (successfully) then witter was never in the picture.

ask anyone outside of britain who junior witter is and you'll get a crowd of full pockets. ask those same people who ricky hatton is and it'll be a diffeent story.

heller min broder bor i australian...og jeg er en og fem ;)

jeg elsker til snakke dansk..jeg har til laere mere....

Hmmm, Calslappy just HAS to be the only fighter that ever left Frank Warren bitching about how he was giving him fights that were too risky :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl

That's probably going to be Calslappys legacy in a nutshell, in fact.

Oh I know it is :good

I've bashed this cowardly ducking **** his entire career for his bull**** antics and I've always placed some of the blame at Frank Warrens door too. I now know that Frank Warren obviously had nothing to do with the cowardice, it was all coming from team Calslappy.

I used to bash Hatton for the same **** when Warren was his promoter but he harangued Warren into getting him the fight with Tszyu and Warren delivered it. Hatton then went on to lose to the P4P number 1 in the sport and didn't disgrace himself in the process. Just for taking that fight I have him ahead of Calslappy in terms of career - make no mistake, if Jones was still P4P number 1 then Calslappy would NOT be fighting the guy.
