He may have given Jones a better fight then people think. Lou Del Valle, Montell Griffin around that time both made Jones looks less then super human. I've completely revised my views on Calzaghe. He certainly wasn't as special as jones but sometimes you don't have to be able to throw 15 bolo's in a row.
Which is a pretty fair summary of the situation. Why should he take a huge risk for peanuts when he has a family to think about? That aint ducking... its clear thinking.
Thank **** I'm not the only person who thought that!!! At first read of the thread title I thought "WTF is this ****????"
Just watching some old fighters and realising that ok some like Marcel Cerdan, Joe Louis, Jones and the sugars looked great.... but some like Willie Pepp, Henry Armstrong, Carlos Monzon didn't look so great. Their greatness wasn't so obvious. Boxing isn't a dance contest. Its about been effective and Calzaghe was freakishly effective. I don't think he was good at looking good, but he was consistant and very good at winning which ultimately is the main objective of any fighter.
I thought the exact same thing. It seems the logical posters did. Jones Jr ain't supposed to be written like that.
i'm glad calzaghe is gone.....he is a lousy excuse for a human being in my books "saying boxing is dead".....nice,respect joe to the fans who paid your salary.....drop dead scumbag
