who gives a **** about favourites? jeff lacy was favourite against calzaghe for crying out loud!!

....and look what happened when he faced an elite at 160. the same would happen at 168, only it would happen quicker.

a win over tito would mean jack****. less than reid, woodhall, bika, veit, sheika, mitchell or brewer, end of ****ing story.

but hey, if they've got a name, who cares?!? :nut

You're blinded by your man-love of Calzaghe. All you have is the hope that he beats a 43 year old fighter haha. That's sad.

In the meantime, run along and believe that JC fought the BEST...that's ok with me. Go on thinking he put forth every effort to make the BIGGEST fights...Live that dream.

How would u hear about Calzaghe calling fighters out back then? unless u were getting uk newspapers hand delivered to your trailer in USA.

Why not start a thread about winky wrights resume 1994 - 2003?

    I will

You carry on believing he should have called out a man who's best years were at 147, for a fight at 168

**** me, surely he's ducking Mayweather?

Ummm...yeah, and you guys all made a big deal out of JC beating Lacy haha...

JC could've at least tried to win another belt. This wasn't like a one or two year period.

He just focused on defending 1 bull**** WBO belt in a weak Super Middleweight division for A DECADE.

lacy is a good win. the reason it gets brought up a lot and rubbed in so many faces is because of all the bull**** we had to listen to stateside before it happened and about what lacy would do to our "overprotected fraud eurobum" etc.

Lacy was a much worse win for JC than Trinidad was for BHOP!

It's a good win, but nothing more. He was overhyped by dumb Americans.

    The point is:

You have to know that Calzaghe could've done more to make big fights in those 9 years. If you don't, I just pity you.

prime lacy ****ing wrecks tito at 168, tito is too stupid and will happily accept lacy's invitation to go to war. he was a genuine SMW who was walking through the division before getting the career smashed out of him.

lacy win>>>>>>tito win at MW. :deal

no he didn't get the superfights in that period, but he also has some good wins in that period that will get overlooked by people who only heard of him post lacy.

I wasn't talking about Lacy versus Trinidad...Trinidad was a better win for Hopkins at that time then Lacy was for Calzaghe.

I knew about JC longgggggg before Lacy. I always thought he had a lot of skill, a couple of holes in his game, and missed fighting big fights.

You're right he had some good wins, but by ATG HOF standards, he wasn't making an effort to make a big fight.

We all know he didn't have to sit at 168 and ONLY defend his WBO Title.

We all know he didn't have to stay in Europe and avoid fighting in the USA.

We all know he could've fought 160 lb. fighters at a catch weight, or 175 lb. fighters, etc.

He chose to stay and defend his belt to build up his "title defenses". That's ok. BUT NEVER SAY HE MADE A LEGITIMATE EFFORT TO MAKE THE BIGGEST FIGHTS POSSIBLE...

Calzaghe called out Hopkins after he beat so no name guy. Got the fight recorded total mistmatch. Joe then called him out after he beat Lacy. Than Joe called him out when he beat the contender guy. Joe Called out B-Hop again after he beat the Very gifted and hard punching Kessler.
