Great win over Lacy no doubt but Lacy was no long time proven Champ.He never really beat a name during his run.Just a slew of fringe contenders.Look at Lacy now!True Champs are measured on how they bounce back after a loss.Lacy has done none of that.

I always thought Jeff was one dimensional Mike Tyson-esc like he went out there just knowing he was going to knock out people because he looked tough but dude could never really fight to begin with. Calzaghe is a good fighter he slaps people around and that's impressive for a man to slap another man around and still be undefeated but Kessler punches people around accurately and hard it'll be to much for Joe to handle this go round.

Calzaghe ought to know that as long as he stays on his feet he will get the decision.

 

Let's stay real please, Calzaghe sells a lot of tickets, but he has never sold 60,000 tickets not even against Lacy, and I doubt that they'll even reach that number for the Kessler fight mainly due to fight time.

 

No, you can't. Where exactly would you place such a fight? Not in Parken that is for sure.

I'm a 100% MK fan - and I believe the MK wins the fight. But the fight will be close and can (honostly) go both ways.
I think it would be a shame if JC retires if he looses his 0. I´m certainly not a big fan of eubank but I agree in that a real champ also must be strong enough to eat a loss. Loosing is pretty much the best teacher to become in boxing. JC is too focused of the topic - losing. That very well be his downfall against MK.
Who ever wins the fight should offer the other a rematch in respect within the next 2 or 3 fights.
It's the 2 best in SMW (and MW) that are facing each other and somebodys 0 got to go.
MK is "only" 28 years of age - and he has at least 5 years back in prime time mode. One day he will lose a fight it is almost 100% sure. It is almost impossible to go through a big carrier without having a very bad day at least one time. A real champion comes back from a loss - with all his got - fighting to get his throne back. Thats boxing. If you haven't lost during a long carrier you simply havent done enough to fight the absolut best fighters.
I sure hope that (if MK wins) he will go straight after the IBF belt and fight who ever got the belt (hopefully Bute).Then after 2-3 titel defenses (inkin, frogh ....) he should go to LHW. If MK stops going for the belts and the best of the bests then he will lose me as a fan. But infact thats what I present like about this guy, he goes straight after what he wants (the belts) - afraid of nothing. Maybe he will lose a fight or two but what the hell - as long as we get some intense fights where the best fighters meet.

For now - I believe in the way of the - viking warrior.

You find this surprising? An established champ getting called out by an up and coming boxer looking to make a name for himself. Do you honestly think that 2-3 years ago, Joe Calzaghe should of started calling out Mikkel Kessler? Dosen't work that way my good man.

JC was caling out Steve Collins for ages to get a fight with him. Not the other way around. Carl Froch has been calling out JC for the last 2 years and has done nothing to back up his claims bar beat what is now MK sparring partner.
