just read a report that despite the low PPV figures Joe Calzaghe earned his biggest ever purse vs RJJ ($10 mill)

really :happy as this vindicated his decision to leave warren who was soo obsessed with calzaghe and wrote a loud of nonsense every week in his newspaper column, even saying calzaghe would make less in this fight then in the hopkins fight because he left him

    2 fingers to warren

    :good

Joe earned about 2 mill for the hopkins fight and apparently warren stole money from him thats why they're going to court

  6. Joes Calzaghe is greedy, its looking like his next fight will be a UK PPV because it'll be on sky. With any luck he'll be KO'd next fight. ;)

This is why I think he might fight again. He can earn another 10 million, which if you exclude his last fight is as nearly much as he has earned for his first 10 years as champ.

no he's not greedy, imagine all those years and his first fight without warren he gets his biggest pay day

for a fighter of his quality he hasn't made the purses he demands

yes it was his first PPV, which is why it will be hard to hang'em up just when he's reached a high profile, still top of game and every fight from now will likely be his biggest purse

    good point

its hard to see him quiting when can earn in 2 fights more then he's earned his whole career

i wonder how much warren made out of calzaghe in those years :yep

calzaghe realised warren was making more then he was (better late then never):-(

Does anyone know the figures for the PPV itself?

    What about ticket sales?

Yeah, i can see Joe taking the money.
I have heard that if he fights Dawson he is in for £6m/$10m.
I cannot see him turning that sort of money down.
Especially as the main problem Dawson provides him is height.
In my eyes he will beat Dawson to a UD.
