Yes you heard me. Calzaghe easily beats any of these top20 fighters (IMO).

Now try and shaft me for saying it. But I also think he shldnt be matched against them. He;s simply too big.

lets be matching calzaghe against TOP LHW's or SMW's like rjj, james toney, DM, sven ottke, bob foster, michael spinks, charles, quwai etc.........

lets put some quality matups together

Are you talking literally? Cause sure I'd agree he beats all of them with exception of Hagler who im not sure how'd he perform at 168..

    But in a p4p sense.

Lol. No, they kick the living **** out of him.

Most definitely beats Duran and Leonard, as they were way past it when they got to that weight range.

I just dont see him beating fighters of that quality easily, based on the best they showed around middeweight or higher..Which was still pretty bloody good.

No way he beats the Hearns that dominated Andries and defeated Hill, "easily"..That would be as competitive as you can get...maybe there is even an arguement for Tommy getting that one.

Hagler is a toss up fight..Marvin wasnt that much smaller, but was overall a much better fighter which evens it up.

I totally disagree he beats any of them easily but with his physical advantages he most likely beats most of them.

    Hagler would of beat him.

Hearns would of had a great shot, maybe 60/40 in favor of Joe.

Duran and Leonard get swamped due to the overwhelming size difference.

I agree, Calzaghe would beat the crap out of the 40 year old version of those three.

And Hopkins wouldn't? Although of course Hagler would be a war.

Why do people always pit Calzaghe against MW's in fantasy matchups? He's much more natural at LHW than he is MW, which he simply isn't at all. At that weight why don't you try naming some greats he'd beat? I'll wait.

Instead of comparing him to the top welterweight, junior middleweight, and middleweight, of the 1980s, it's more fair to compare him to that period's top light heavyweights, which is what Calzaghe would be.

He probably beats Johnson, and maybe E. Muhammad (maybe not the version who fought Johnson). He loses to Spinks and Qawi.

Joe is not Bigger then Hagler. I dont know why you would even mention Duran in the same sentence as Calzaghe. Hearns and Leonard both have a good chance of beating Joe in their primes. I am confident that Leonard would get on his skates and out flurry Joe for a close UD. Hearns may also defeat Joe, maybe even by KO. Hagler I feel may lose by trying to chase Joe around and catching too many shots. Although he may have caught and KO'd Calzaghe. Duran is 5'7" for Christs sake and was 135 - 140 pounds in his prime. Joe may have beaten the other 3, but its insane to say he would be any kind of overwhelming favorite. Especially over Hearns and Leonard.

Joe really isnt that big for a 175 pounder. However he is a bit bigger then Leonard and I should have realized that before I posted that last comment. That comparrison is also ridiculous, not as bad as the Duran comparrison but bad. Hearns I think at 168 could beat Joe, Hagler would have no problem fighting at 168 either, and he is every bit as strong as Joe.
