As someone who likes Calzaghe, I find them rather annoying. He was a very good fighter. But no amount of worship or revisionist history is going to turn him into a once and a generation talent like a Jones or a Mayweather. He was awful good, though.
i see more and more it not americans in general that don't appericate Joe Calzghe rather the Mojority that hate are african american Urban fans. that just can't stand the fact that He's White Undefeated and Talented. HE 's been the Superior white athlete though out his career and it's hard for them to deal with. on top of that he's just a winner plain and simple his last Loss was when he was an amature the the opponets dad was the ref. and that was mabout 20yrs ago. Like Mayweather,Ward and Calderon. your bound to get haters look a Pacman. he's been winning lately but you got people saying oh man he's been winning but look at these intangable well with every fighter and every fight there are intagables. it's part of life. but if Joe's skin color was black you see alot switch up. :hat
the man was undefeated and almost impossible to prepare for. once you started to time him he'd change his rythme and frequency. one the best example to show young fighter on how to adapt during a fight. although it was almost natural for him. Incredibly strong mentally and Physically. and and his hands weren't **** he could crack. hell even slapping he hit hard enough to keep fighters from just rushing in
It is the "Black Man" holding Calzaghe down..........:rofl Black Man spelled backward is white fighter hater and if you can't see that then the "Man" has you brainwashed my brotha............atsch
I'm as white as it gets. I have to put on sunblock when I go for the paper in the morning. Also, I can't stand rap or hiphop. But I still don't think Calzaghe was an atg. He was a very, very good fighter. But he doesn't belong in the same breath as guys like Jones or Mayweather as teh great talents of the past generation. He was very good. However, his great failing was that he never beat a great fight in his prime. His best win was arguably against a 43 year old Hopkins.
Agree. Calzaghe was a very, very good fighter. And perhaps you can slap the reverse racism lable on people who think he was ****. What we're talking about here is fans that claim he was a once in a generation talent. Sorry, he wasn't. He was P4P fighter that his rabid fans tend to overate a bit because he was one of the best to come out of that region.
I've seen him fight, sir. I know he was very good. I just do think he was a once in a generation talent. I'd put him up there as one of the five or ten best fighters of his generation, though. And that's pretty special.
in all honesty, the calzaghe fans on here are arguably the most knowledgable and educated fans on ESB :yep every debate is argued rationally and with common sense principles :yep every post shows dignity and respect for calzaghe's opponents and fellow posters :yep and most importantly, every debate about calzaghe gets backed up with scientific, irrefutable facts :deal
well i see him as a great fighter maybe not an ATG top 50 P4p but at 168 hes atg #1 based on talent even with RJJ but what shoots him over is his record 21 defenses and he certainly aint no Ottke:hey
