Calzaghe fans! Be honest, would Joe have won if he'd been fighting 2001-2005 B-Hop??

    Oh they weren't there?

You know, I was going to go back and link forum posts, articles, opinion pieces and really can't be ****ed.

You're so stuck in your way that anything I show you, you'll attempt to refute, Even attempting to state a 36 yr old is in the best condition of his life? Funny.

Joe Calzaghe is an excellent fighter, and I highly regard his set of skills. But Bernard Hopkins is simply the best, he is the master of the ring. At 2001-2002Hopkins was still in his prime and he wins clearly, something like 8-4, maybe even 9-3 (by the way, at this stage Hops beats Jones, there is reason why Jones avoided the rematch). Since 2003 B-hop faded a little so it's an even fight, just like it was in 2008.

Actually, I've never said that. YOUR so stuck in your way that you think that people argue something that they aren't. To the point where you suggest that a 43 yr old is in better condition than a 36 yr old.

    So... yeah. Again, whatever.

Who beat "the best Robin Read", in just one fight before Joe fought him?

One answer facts will suffice; nothing more is needed.

    "Nothing more is needed"

Oh, so the fact that 85% of the boxing media called screwjob and the fact that the guy you're talking about was a known screwjob recipient, the ONLY reason Calzaghe took the fight was cause he felt bad for Reid after said screwjob.

Yes, lets leave out all the FACTS and say "Ottke".

And yet the win over Robin Reid is your benchmark of prime Calzaghe (anyone who doubts what I'm saying, read through his posts on just this page).

I actually like Joe Calzaghe; but these sums I keep hearing simply don't add up.

I willing to bet Hopkins is in much better shape at 43 than plenty of 36 ,26, and 23 year olds .

I totally agree but how many of those 36,26, 23 year olds are boxing for the LH weight championship of the world.

The version of Calzaghe that just fought Hopkins would have hammered a 2001 Hopkins just as badly as Hopkins weighed 160 back then.
