Calzaghe fans! Be honest, would Joe have won if he'd been fighting 2001-2005 B-Hop??

people were saying how calzaghe has got better with age and how this is his prime after he beat kessler..the only reason they've changed their tune is because hopkins made him look that bad and there were times when joe calzaghe looked embarassingly amateur...stop overrating calzaghe he's wide open their to be hit throws wide a prime b-hop takes care of him no problem (even though i thought hopkins won)

The skill between the two is evident. Joe uses his speed and reflexes to get himself out of danger but Hopkins is by far the superior boxer. Hopkins by UD or late round stoppage with both at their peak.

 It's funny because it's true. Hopkins is one of those fighters where even if you beat him, you still don't win.

Calzaghe would have been somewhere near his prime 5 year ago - different fight... still couldn't pick a winner though

Americans forget the advantages Hopkins had over Calzaghe.

Would Hopkins have won or even won a round in Wales? I dont think so

Would Hopkins beaten Calzaghe 5 years ago? Calzaghe was physically stronger and faster so no I dont think so.

I know its hard but you have to sooner or later accept American boxers are no longer the best in the world, far from it.

This thread is hilarious. Some Calzaghe fans cry "Calzaghe wasn't in his prime either..." Well he was coming off by far his best performance. Of course he looked better fighting WBO bums but in reality he's in, or very close to his prime now.

It'll be so funny if Calzaghe just scrapes past Jones and we're told that "a younger Jones would open up more allowing Calzaghe to..." I bet that if Jones wins we''ll be told that Joe is washed up and that a prime Joe would win. It's crazy.

Kessler might have been his best win, but it wasnt his best performance.

I don't know if you agree but age never had anything to do with this fight ... I remember giving you a hard time before the fight and me saying that age had nothing to do with it.

Hopkins would never be able to beat a guy like Calzaghe ...

Hopkins isn't the kinda fighter to beat Calzaghe ... he never was ... he was never a beast ... he was never fast handed ... he never engaged ... he never took the risk.

The fight would've been a blowout if he had fought Calzaghe several years ago.

he isnt the most viewer friendly fighter now but if you watch his earlier fights like glen johnson trinidad echols he displayed a little bit of everything in those fights what makes him great is he adjusted his style in order to increase longevity...you may not like hopkins tactics but so what they are tactics the tactic was to frustrate calzaghe and if you watch the fight he did calzaghe was the one throwing flurries in the last 10 seconds to try and steal rounds... you may not find him nice to watch but il bet you you'll be hard pressed to find many people who like to watch calzaghes flailing wide punching devoid of any technique...calzaghes ugly as **** to watch IMO
