Calzaghe fans! Be honest, would Joe have won if he'd been fighting 2001-2005 B-Hop??

Hopkins and Calzaghe were BOTH over the hill when they fought I wish some people would take that into account.

If they had fought when they should have before Hopkins pulled out at the last minute it would have been a better fight with Joe winning a lot more clearly.

The Calzaghe who could actually punch with conviction at around the time of the Mitchell fight is way too much for any version of Hopkins to handle.

jesus the stupidity of some of the calzaghe fans astounds me...jermain taylor does not own b-hops arse he got two razor thin decisions over him that could have easily gone the other way

But the 2005 Calzaghe would have beaten the 2005 Hopkins and that's all that matters. You can't redo their inherent age difference.

If BHop didn't land that flash knockdown in the first, that fight would have been an even easier decision for Calzaghe. Once JC got over that, BHop hardly won another round. A rematch would go like the second half of their fight, but for all 12 rounds, if BHop can keep up the pace without the fake injury time outs.

not if he was in the form he was in against b hop.but if the fight was held in 2005 calzaghe would have been in his prime too.so YES he would have won.

yes. you forget that Calzaghe would have had even better stamina, and more quickness too. and more importantly Calzaghe's hands weren't as bad then, he still had pop.

Hopkins is always underrated by fans because he doesn't have the great measurables. I mean how do you measure supreme boxing skills, ring generalship, timing, accuracy, and just ring savvy? On a scale of 1-10, Hopkins is a 10+ in those categories. I mean here's a 43 year old man who had no gas left in the tank who made the supposed #2 P4P fighter in the world look awful.

What excuses? Hopkins beat Calzaghe at the age of 43. :nut  Yeah, give the 43 year old version of Hopkins tons of more stamina and he does worse right? :nut

That doesn't make sense. Hopkins has never fought like that when he did have stamina.

You just proved my point. You looked at his measurables. He never had great measurables. That's why he was the underdog against Tito, Tarver, and Winky. They always pick the other guy because the other guy has some measurable that can be measured.

Freaken B-Hop took all those three to SCHOOL in the worst way. How did he do that? He's a master of his profession. He knows what he's doing. He takes away your best weapon.
