joe is a great fighter and would give almost anybody fits with his style he won my respect over after lacy i really dont care what people say about lacy being overrated hes a good fighter imo he was supposed to house joe and it went a 180 on him and whe nhe fought bhop bhop was coming off 2 good wins over tarver and wright and in reality we all know roy wanted the fight too when roy fought i think he was trying to prove to everybody he wasnt a coward due to what everybody was saying after the third tarver fight and roy gave his all and wasnt just there to get a check and calzaghe also had over eubank, kessler, reid, omar s,and even when he knew he was winning on kessler he still stood and fought and the same with roy and well i dont recall him ever pulling a de la hoya

 

You said in your initial post "3 good opponents in 11 years". Suggesting by implication that the rest of them weren't.

If Pac secured a fight with Morales now and showboated all the way through beating him up, I wouldn't be loving it or be celebrating afterwards or believing he deserves credit for it. Different strokes I suppose.

I used to doubt Calzaghes credentials and record and argue the toss with anybody who wanted to do in the pub on the subject.I WAS WRONG.After the Lacy fight i just held my hands up and thought this guy is world class.We can argue the toss all day about who hes avoided and when and vice versa.I think also its a pretty common opinion whether your a Brit like me or a Yank that Jones Jnr would have beaten Calzaghe in his pomp.But at the end of the day 46 and 0 is a tremendous achievement at whatever level but hes beaten some world class fighters along the way,the best in Europe AND NEVER BEEN BEATEN.Hes not the best boxer ever by a long chalk but the guy is a legend,a hall of famer and arguably the best boxer about at the moment.To say he hasnt met Dawson is clutching at straws.A few weeks ago it was he hasnt met Pavlik and we all know what happened there.The truth is American boxing isnt in a great state at the moment so just for once admit that us Brits have a guy that at this moment in time can beat anything you throw at him!
The Lacy fight made me look a bit silly,anybody still arguing that Calzaghe is anything but a legend is making himself look a complete clown!
