Calzaghe Fans: "Joe was better than Hagler"

Joe Calzaghe had plenty of faults, and flaws, but the possibility of losing to a fvcking idiot Yank, wasn't one of them. Hagler, Leonard, Hearns, or any other muppet, who are only ATG's in the American psyche. Not possible for him to lose to lesser beings of that ilk, even in that fantasy land known as the USA.

 

Calzaghe's slaps would have no affect on Hagler's iron cranium.

Them brittle hands would be smashed if Hagler decided to turn it into a tare up, and when Calzaghe's glass hands break we witness some of the worst Calzaghe performances such as Robin Reid and Evans Ashira.

I would pick Hagler to win the battle of the jabs, as Calzaghe has been out jabbed by Kessler/Hopkins and Hagler had one of the best southpaw jabs in the game aswell as a reach advantage and better footwork. Calzaghe would eventually have no option but to what he does best, workrate, and Hagler fought best when his opponent came at him (Scypion, Hearns, Hamsho...), in contrast to when his opponent boxed off the backfoot (SRL, Duran).

 

Hagler is getting that jab taken away right from the start. he'll fight on the inside. but if it did take place at range in spots, i'm very sure that Joe has what it takes in the skill set to do the job.

Calzaghe did have bad hands, but they never went every time he fought. so you can't use that as a way for Hagler to win.

 

If Evans Ashira's Kenyan skull was capable of shattering Calzaghe's glass hands, just imagine what Hagler's iron cranium would have done to them fists. Even Tony Montana would not be able to supply enough cocaine to numb the pain in Calzaghe's hands after Marvin Hagler eats some of Calzaghe's flurries. And once Calzaghe's hands are gone, Hagler does him.

 

More **** from the resident imbecilic Yanks. Calzaghe's hands didn't " go " in fights at all. He damaged his hands at a certain point in his career, and from then on he adapted his style to protect them, throwing more accurate punches, at a higher volume than his opponent. Any fool that thinks a slower than constipation Hagler, could live with Joe's work rate can only either be a Yank, or a fvcking idiot.

Then again, the two are one and the same.

 

Although I agree with the part about the Yanks, that small paragraph you posted was crammed up with some bull****. Saying Calzaghe never had glass hands is falsehood, Joe Calzaghe glass hands were the reason he turned into Calslappy. I am not saying Calzaghe never hit hard because glass is hard material but brittle, I remember the lucazade bottles back in the late 90's when they were made of glass were used as a formidable weapon, but once they smashed they were usually of no use.

And saying Calzaghe threw accurate punches, atsch, and Hagler was slow as constipation , Hagler held in there with SRL.

 

JC beats Hagler - too big, too fast, too much stamina. Plus he already outsmarted Hagler 2.0 when he faced Hopkins.

 

How can you just dismiss Hagler's jab? How does Joe take it away? Another question, name one fight where Joe took away the jab of southpaw fighter with a great jab.

 

Hagler and Winky are two names that come to my mind when thinking about who had the best southpaw jab in the history of the sport, Hagler was also ambidextrous, equally capable of use both hands which made him an effective switch hitter.

 

forget the position of the fighters. Calzaghe would stay close and do his work. Hagler needs to have distance to make his jab effective. it would be shut down and made to be ineffective. that is very easy to see. :deal
