tired? the only fight i have ever seen RJJ tired in was after he dropped back down from HW and fought Tarver the first time...that is it.....never have i seen him tired..his conditioning is excellent
Thats a good analysis whatever the outcome of the fight i still believe it may come down to a split decision, due to JC output of punches because he'll show who his pressing the fight.
when you get brutally KOed by feather fisted Glen Johnson and knocked down by a bum like Lou De Valle you have a Glass Jaw.
In Roy's case the glass jaw thing may be true. He just didn't get stopped, he got knocked stiff. Not only by Tarver but by Johnson too. And these knockouts followed a career that saw him hardly get touched. It certainly appeared that once he slowed down enough to get hit solidly he couldn't take any kind of solid punch whatsoever.
Prime Roy doesn't make it closer, he dominates.....Wide UD possibly a knock out. Joe is lucky Roy is just a shell of himself, which is why a Calzaghe victory wont mean much.
I disagree.....Tarver & Jones both threw counter left hooks at the same time but Tarver got there first..(maybe it was the reach).Roy got caught it happens in boxing. In the Johnson fight his head bounced off the canvas.....and he didnt get hit in the jaw, he got hit in the side of the neck. That is not a "glass jaw" by any means.
How do u work that out Roy as b at LHW and heavyweight last ten years look at the masterclass he give ruiz. Like he said on the Steve Bunce show here in britain he should have gradually lost the 30 pounds instead of losing it all at once for the tarver fight.
everyone knows Roy is shot, he's coming out of an unimpressive win over a way smaller man in trinidad before that a barely win over shitty hanshaw.... come on man if he actually beats joe that's gonna expose the hype. but there's little chance of that happening. it's all good though cause even half ass boxing fans know that a Prime Roy would annihilate Calzaghe.
I get so sick of this ****.... When you guys repeat the same crap without knowing anything except repeating what you hear... Name all the bums he fought..... Put up or shut up.:deal
True. But when Calzaghe tests Jones, does Jones have the desire to dig down deep and go through hell to win? I don't think so. See the rubber match with Tarver in which Jones never even ****ing tried to win. Jones has the tools to beat Calzaghe, but I don't think he's mentally strong enough. The recent 24/7 proved this. Jones was talking about religious nonsense, mythical journeys, and reflecting on past glory. He did not seem confident and he certainly did not seem focused. Frankly, he looked a bit punchy if you ask me. On the other hand, Calzaghe looked cool, calm, and collected. He appears confident and focused, and even told his ***** to make him dinner. I think Calzaghe's gonna win this. RJJ's best chance comes if he can hurt Calzaghe early and follow up with something mean. If he cannot do that, Calzaghe will ultimately have his way with him.
:rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl Jones got his Glass Jaw shattered by two guys that are not power punchers.
I think RJJ is a far better fighter with the hands than Hopkins will ever be...much for flash or pizzaz to his punches, so when he throws them and Joe gets hit the crowd and judges will all recognize that his punches mean more that a flurry of slaps. Also Calzaghe will not PRESS the fight.....he cannot continue to throw punches against a guy with the accuracy and power of RJJ. Remember b4 the pavlik-hopkins fight people said Pavliks work rate would be too much for Hopkins? All that was nullified with Hopkins speed..... the same thing will occur 2 saturdays from now:deal
