    Hey nuthugger where does the term Reluctant Roy come from? Why was this phrase coined when it came to Glass Jaw Roy?

    That might be a good start to your question.....

    None of this happened to him until after he came down from heavy at age 35, and pretty much debilitated his body.

    Fair enough but this fight should have happened a long time ago in the early 2000's then we would see if the fight would have panned out any differently.

    Is Joe better than Roy? Well, there aren't any scenes like these on Joe's resume:

    vs Tarver II (TKO)

    vs the guy some feel beat Dawson [Johnson] (KO)

    ...nor are there any "L's."

    The fight should be good. Roy's a bit larger than Joe and he is faster. I'm looking forward to it.

    Roy Jones doesn't have a glass jaw. Calzaghe might beat Roy, but Roy doesn't have a glass jaw. It looks that way to you, but not to true fans.

    he got up before the count was done and was in no shape to continue...i agree

    vs Johnson his HEAD bounced off the canvas...and Glen Johnson hit him in the neck

    So the roy who dominated toney and hopkins would lose to Calzaghe ok. I mean the eubank who beat benn and watson would have beaten JC.

    And Roy does have a Glass Jaw he was brutally KOed by feather fisted Glen Johnson for 6 minutes.

    If Calzaghe KO's him will you finally realize his Chin is complete and total Glass?

    Roy's resume will **** all over Cal's resume. If Jones fought bums, then I wonder what you think of Cal's comp.

    Hell at least Calzaghe fought Eubank Roy would have avoided him like he did every one else at the time.

    Maybe, maybe not.

    Personally, I would not mind seeing Jones win, because I think we'd finally got the long-awaited rematch between Jones and Hopkins should that happen.

    I just don't believe Jones is mentally tough enough to beat an elite fighter since his KO loss to Tarver. He's been gunshy ever since, and that's not going to help him against a determined foe like Calzaghe.

    Which makes this even sadder, really, because Jones DOES have the physical tools to beat Calzaghe, and I still believe he will probably lose.

    Roy himself said he was bored with the sport and didnt train like he did before...he didnt live and breathe boxing. he was fighting just to fight. Boxing is 90 percent mental and if he was unfocused I see whay u lost to Tarver and Johnson.

    I am a fan of neither guy but I am curious of what this new STYLE of RJJ's is...he has got pummeed in his last 3 big fights...he is not BHOP and Calzaghe is NOT pavlik...u have this fight ALL WRONG:lol:
