Calzaghe fans think Joe is better than RJJ?

    Never left his terrible weight class ? Why does he have legit Championships in 4 weight classes then. Light Heavyweight was far from terrible Clinton Woods,Antonio Tarver,Eric Harding,Gonzalez,Reggie Johnson,Virgil Hill,Montell Griffin he defeate all these guys World Champs.

    Then list Calzaghe super Elite opponents before you start talking **** to other fighter's MUCH better resume.

    right now Lacy (was a a freight train and calzaghe runied him, kessler was undefeated and is a great fighter and BHOP is an ATG

    Dunks, I know you're a big Roy Jones fans, but you're overlooking a lot of things.

    First of all, though his jaw is not a 'glass jaw', its still not great. Second, Hopkins threw Calzaghe off of his game by keeping him from getting set. He used footwork, right hands at odd time, and tried to fight outside of his rhythm, even holding after landing a punch coming in. Roy does not do these things. He used to keep people from getting set using his feints, and sort of 'chicken fighting' moves. Roy doesn't really do this anymore.

    Jones's defensive 'shell' (putting his hands up) is NOT the perfect defense for Calzaghe's offense. It may even block most of Calzaghe's flurries, but he can't counter from it, especially when Joe is throwing 100+ punches a round. It will look like he's taking tons of punishment, it will look very bad to the judges.

    I will be honest I actually hope RJJ wins cuz i can't stand JC fans but I just dnt see it...i can't get tarver jones 3 out of my head...neither guy looked like they wanted to win...I had a bunch of money on tarver and I just thought RJJ should have won EASY but he was mentally beat...JC seems mentally very tough...but I like RJJ fans much more...they dont seem to lick his nuts like JC fans....esp being a PBF fan and seeing the **** he gets despite dominating everyone he fights...but PBF never had that 3 fight **** show RJJ had

    Good post.

    One thing I wonder about is whether Roy can move and catch Calzaghe with pot shots coming in. I think he can have some success with this at times, but can he do this long enough in enough rounds to win a decision?

    I, for one, doubt it.

    I think RJJ's best chance is to land a big counter and go for broke if he has Calzaghe hurt early in the fight.

    And being a PBF fan myself, its too bad we probably wont ever see him in a three fight **** show.

    I agree with everything you said about Tarver/Jones III and that his head wasnt in it. I think we'll see a different Roy this time.

    I thought Hopkins game plan actually was more beneficial to Calzaghe. Roys Winky adapted defense will prove to be bad for calzaghe. He will throw punches and with the quickness Roy will open up and hit Calzaghe everywhere from the Head to the body with fluid combinations. Roy will not run like B hop, he knows Calzaghe cant match him speed for speed or power for power. Calzaghe has NEVER been in the ring with a figher like Roy Jones Jr and the world will witness this next week. Calzaghes style has always been punch output...he doesnt even throw shots with conviction. HE WILL NOT THROW 100 PUNCHES A ROUND AGAINS A MAN WHO WILL FIGHT HIM BACK......... Roy is a 2 fisted animal with a more superior offensive aresenal than Calzaghe.....that will be the difference in the fight

    Lacy was never elite :patsch Roy beat fighters like Lacy also...
    A 43 year old BHOP, while still a good fighter, not an elite fighter at his age.
    I rate Kessler has his best win, but Kessler isn't any better than some of Roy's best wins.

    Dude, he was the best fighter in the world P4P at the time, Why should he have to travel to fight anyone.
