You see Realsoulja. Making up lies isnt pwning anyone. Im obviously not the only one that finds you to be a fool
Good post, that's a solid defence of Joe's resume. "Lacy has arguably a better resume than current IBF champ Bute does now." - I agree, but this just goes to show that you can't assess a fighter by relying on their resume alone.
you and assasin probably rail eachother watching Calzaghe vs Branko Sobot on a daily basis, both of whom been getting pwnd for a long time on ESB. All that **** you said above I summarized already so you just repeating what I already said for you. - I think RJJ was shot when Calzaghe beat him, you dont. My opinion is shared with the majority including Calzaghe himself and is also based on him being KO by Glen Johnson and Tarver men who Hopkins easily beat, and RJJ beat Hopkins pretty easily aswell just a further indication that RJJ was pretty shot. Also shared by the opinion of timesonline which I bought up. But you bring the Ring LHW top 10, and a performance vs Lacy and Sheika as your evidence, and also a 12 round decision loss to Tarver to try and justify RJJ wasnt shot. Also not taking the KO1 loss to Green into consideration. - I think Eubank was past it and was weight drained and I show you that BBC sport aswell as the majority of fans shared my opinion, but you go against the majority view aswell as the opinion of BBC sport and like to see Eubank still in great shape despite losing alot of his fights circa Calzaghe, and despite retiring and being written off after Collins2. Also stating that Eubank looked good in defeat vs Carl Thompson who to be honest aint on a prime Eubank's level. - I think Jeff Lacy was an American Hypejob who hadnt justified his hype in the ring, his best win was Scott Pembeton and a shot Robin Reid and I base this on his resume, and the majority belief amongst boxing fans, but you like to believe Jeff Lacy the contary and not think he was an American Hypejob. Calzaghe gets respect from many of disposing Lacy, but it aint to be made to look like it was one of the greatest victories in the history of the sport. - I think Mario Veit was a German hypejob, but you think his 10 round Majority decision over Braehmer, (not a 12 round championship rounds fight) is something which justifies his 'greatness', even though he got KTFO in the rematch, and even though got KO by Dennis Inkin, you think his hype is justified by a MD10 win. :-( - David Starie was a commonwealth level fighter, do you consider him higher than that? Why are you bringing up a commonwealth level fighter to try and justify Calzaghe's world classness All in all you seem adament in your excessive ass kissing off Calzaghe, I make things easier for you:- Im sure most of boxing fans would agree with me on the following and im sure you must of come across these opinions before on ESB other from me:- 1. RJJ was shot when Calzaghe beat him 2. Eubank was past his best and weight drained when he faced Calzaghe 3. David Starie was a commonwealth level fighter 4. Jeff Lacy was a product of the American media and was hyped up before he achieved anything special, meaning his resume never justified his hype. 5. Mario Veit was a gatekeeper of the SMW division at the time. 6. BHop was more past his best than Calzaghe was when they fought 7. Calzaghe chose not to fight Froch who was WBC SMW mandatory. 8. Andre Dirrell has more talent and potential than Mario Veit 9. Andre Ward made Kessler look more ****, than Calzaghe did to Kessler. 10. Calzaghe was a slapper (I made it 10 a round figure) You may or may not agree with those points, but that opinion is what I believe the majority of boxing politics believes from my time spent reading up boxing articles, general opinions of boxing fans and watching boxing. From what I have seen you think otherwise on all those points, to me only a few agree with you (mainly other Calzaghe nutthuggers) and the majority agree with me
They are: 1. Kessler (may move down - since his legacy is still in the making. So far he is by far the best prime fighter Calzaghe fought). 2. Eubank (not prime, but still good) 3. Hopkins (old and not prime, but still good) The rest are not very good. But the best of them are probably Sakio Bika and Reid (Joe broke his hand early on after schooling Reid left, right and center until then. Reid would not have gotten a point in the current SS) - neither of whom have ever proven much as professionals.
Headbanger speaking the truth...:deal I have always liked him too, but I have never agreed with everything he has said or done, sometimes Roy make a complete fool out of himself.... But that makes me like him more for some reason.:yep I was young in 88 but that mixed with Tyson got me into boxing young, my whole family has been Roy fans ever since 88, I remember watching it and my family freaking out when he got robbed, Roy fan ever since.:thumbsup
Agreed. Im sure Bute will go on to do more than Lacy, but ive noticed alot of people have forgot how lucky Bute was first time round with Andrade already
1) Pudwill. Calzaghe was the heavy underdog here and he absolutely brutalised one of America's finest. 2) Manfredo. Manfredo was the 1-2 betting favourite in this bout. Calzaghe destroyed him, nearly taking his head off in round 3. He also beat bums like Kessler, Lacy, Eubank, Jones and Hopkins, but these guys don't count.
1st rate sarcasm 46and0. Bang on post! You have not only dazzled them with irrefutable scientific facts, now you have thrown in a new wrinkle to keep the enlightened ones interested after so many verbal thrashings!! (The part of HEADBANGER will be played by des3995 in today's performance. HEADBANGER is at home recovering from a bout with dengue fever but is expected to make a complete recovery.) PS -Oh, I almost forgot......... pwnage.
Calfagze the slapper sooked cus i said so and would get pwned by ANY AMERICAN AT ANY WEIGHT EVER! (Talivar shall today play the role of robert77 who due to his absence is feared missing!)
Thats just a difference of an opinion then, I think RJJ was done years before Calzaghe dealt with him, you believe otherwise, and also think in your response that 'many' believe he was done aswell. Matter of fact I agree with what Calzaghe said in his biography when he said RJJ was done. Right now you seem like you agree that Eubank was past his best, and was weight drained I get that assumption from your reply when you said:- So from the above I presume we are in agreement, however looking back at your previous view: [http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showpost.php?p=7092337&postcount=413] [http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showpost.php?p=7101872&postcount=469] and now you seem to agree by stating Before you seem to argue that Eubank wasnt weight drained, now you seem to agree Eubank was weight drained. From the pwnage you change you opinions. (Note: All that above previous replies you made were from me stating Eubank was past his prime and was weight drained.) IDK maybe your intention was to say something else, but I will judge from what you said, and from the looks of it you disagreed with me before and now are agreeing on the exact same thing. Maybe because you got schooled by me when I opened this thread and you changed your opinion. http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=234243 So just answer a simple yes/no answer to these question and put this Eubank thing to rest. Was Chris Eubank past his best when he fought Calzaghe? Yes/No Was Christ Eubank weight drained when he fought Calzaghe? Yes/No (I never said Eubank was shot, I just said he was past his best nothing like what he used to be when he fought Nigel Benn and Watson.) Seems to me you agree Jeff Lacy was an American Hypejob. Thats my opinion of him and therefore it aint a victory that make you look ATG. Or even a HOF'er IMO. You try and make Mario Veit look better than he is, he was a gatekeeper in a weak SMW division. His 10 round (not 12 round) MD (not UD) win over Braehmer dont look significant after he got KTFO by Braehmer in a 12 round rematch. A gatekeeper is someone who a champion beats easily. Thats was his level, not a contender since he got destroyed everytime he stepped up, and the SMW division was weaker than it is today. How can Calzaghe (who has never been ranked higher than Hopkins by the Ring P4P rankings) be considered favorite against Hopkins, when Calzaghe moves up in weight, and goes to Hopkins country, and fights for Hopkin's LHW ring title Watching the Hopkins-Calzaghe countdown by HBO, it shows that this was because Calzaghe was considered the more younger, the more fresh, and Hopkins was considered too old, and was considered a little over the hill and was coming to an end in his long career. Hopkins age has been in discussion since 2001, Calzaghe's age was in discussion in 2009, and he retired in the same year. But believe what you want, I think if an old Hopkins was able to school Calzaghe (at least in the first 6 rounds), a Prime Hopkins would have killed him. The first thing that goes as is believed by many is the speed, Hopkins handspeed and footspeed aint the same as it used to be. Calzaghe's speed also aint as good as it was when he fought Reid or Mitchell, but it was not that far off when he fought RJJ.
