Calzaghe fans, throw down your top 10 wins.

1. Bernard Hopkins, rated in the Top 3 P4P at the time, Ring LHW champion, coming off potentially his two of his three career best wins against Tarver and Winky Wright and then gaining another career best win by dismantling Pavlik in a brutal fight. Clean result in the eyes of unbiased judging - 80% of people felt Calzaghe won, considering he's a brit against an American fighter, that's irrefuteable

2. Mikkel Kessler - unified undefeated champion in his prime, had barely lost a round before meeting Calzaghe in the ring, was badly beaten at his own outside game by Calzaghe despite pundits picking his jab would be too good for Calzaghe

3. Chris Eubank - while at the end of his career, still a live dog and big threat for any green fighter making their first attempt at a title, managed to knock the iron chinned Eubank down and despite scares later in the fight, proved his boxing pedigree. Also Calzaghe was the underdog in this fight.

4. Robin Reid, former champ with close loss to Thulani Malinga, disputeable decision against Ottke later in his career, yet another "favorite" in the fight with Calzaghe. Calzaghe was able to beat him with one hand in a fight that is only controversial due to one judge making it an SD (what the **** fight was he watching?)

5. Jeff Lacy - powerful fighter who was gaining headway in the world as one of the most exciting for his ability to punish fighters and stop fights, beaten by Calzaghe despite a wrist injury Calzaghe carried into the fight and was absolutely dominated, never got back to what he used to be due to torn rotator cuff injuries and losing the aura he once had. Calzaghe was a massive underdog in this fight

6. Byron Mitchell - former world champion, another who could feel robbed by Ottke in their fight. A live fighter at the time and part of Joe's attempts to goad Ottke into the ring by easily defeating anyone who had a close decision against him.

7. Richie Woodhall - Former champion with great boxing skills and some good wins throughout the years before meeting Calzaghe, was handily beaten at the time

8. Mario Veit - Undefeated fighter who had been operating at fringe contender level for a few years before being handed his first defeat by Calzaghe. Due to being able to work back to mandatory and getting a big offer together, was beaten again by Calzaghe, went on to defeat current LHW champ Braehmer to prove his pedigree as an awkward fighter

9. Omar Sheika - coming off a result against Glen Johnson prior to the Calzaghe fight which resulted in him getting a Calzaghe fight, represented a young up and coming boxer with a disputeable loss in a fight against a Vet fighter. Had a barn burner with Thomas Tate following and many feel that the beatings he took by Calzaghe and Tate ruined him - the fight with Tate was very close, the same Tate that also had disputed decisions against Ottke

10. Roy Jones Jr - while not as good as he once was, he was still a Top 10 fighter and title contender at LHW. No one doubts he was well past his prime but he was still good enough to defeat contender level fights like Ajamu, he beat Trinidad easily, he beat Hanshaw easily and had enough after losing badly (real badly) to Calzaghe to beat Sheika and Lacy before being beaten at cruiserweight by Danny Green and having a boring fight with B-Hop.

Honorable mention for Mkertchian, Starie, Brewer, Bika, Thornberry.

Calzaghe doesn't have any GREAT wins either. Hopkins was 43 by the time they fought far from his prime.

Robin Reid is in my opinion the best win on either resume, a former WBC champ who beat undefeated B Magee now Euro champ and lost a dubious decision to Ottke.
Sheika is of a similar level to Miranda.


Lets remember also that Bute looked very close to a KO loss to Andrade.

I don't know where you got 90 % of Americans that swore Lacy would own him but indeed he was a hype job ..I actually thought Omar Sheika had beat Lacy prior and got robbed of a decision ..But Joe's best wins were:

Bad dog beat me to it: if you list hopkins top 10 wins 8,9 & 10 start to look a little ropey. Im a big calzaghe fan: i dont think anyone has a problem with his 10th best win for example i think most people pick on his top 3

You got a point based on who Eubank was I would replace the Vanderpool or Veit fight with CE
