It's hard to imagine that the ref would permit Hopkins to hold twelve times a round but then warn Calzaghe for punching with an open glove. But who knows.

Good post bro, and I would like to add that the fact that this Mega-Fight is gonna be available to the US on free HBO, I promise that if Joe gets jobbed or screwed people even over here will see it and be pissed.

Just like after Holyfield/Lewis I, (don't know if you've seen it but it's on youtube) HBO did a special where Merchant and Lampley called out the judges and had them on the show to try to make them explain themselves for their actions.

Guarantee that the largest portion of American's watching would raise hell and be embaressed if we hosted a Champion from abroad and cheated him in his result if deserved.

ANy of these fighters who use excuses like ohh i would of beaten hopkins if he didnt headbutt me in the third! or yea i didnt train to well for the fight! then they will lose alot of respect

hopefully none of that will happen and it will be a good fighter bewteen to of boxings elite!

This forum is getting worse and worse. All I really want to do is argue about the finer points of the fight: Calzaghe's flurries vs Hopkins' lead right hand; Hopkins wily tactics vs Joe's boxing skills; but all we seem to get is "Joe's going to be exposed for being the protected euro fighter" or "Hopkins is old and is going to get KO'd early". And dan-b is right, we've got 2 months of this **** to go. I partly feel responsible for this for insisting that Joe wins fairly comfortably over 12 as that seems to put me with the crazy loony JC "fanbois".

The finer points of this bout are far more interesting to talk about than getting into an arguement to get a rise out of someone you'll never meet.

I would also like to agree with C HOP that regardless of who wins: Let's say Bernard, it is NOT because Joe was a Fraud, and let's say Joe wins it's NOT because B-hops was old as long as they both perform like we know they can the best man (that night) will win.

There's no need for excuses. Hopkins isn't winning more than 1 round against Calzaghe. He is a dirty fighter who throws 5 punches per round and fights the last 5-6 rounds of a fight. He is nothing compared to Joe and I don't even like Joe.

they'll probably say Hopkins is a very good fighter and it doesn't diminish Joe's accomplishments which would be true. although i pick calzaghe to win.

Exactly. Who ever wins is the better man. I pick Joe to beat B-Hop on points not by ko.

Let me translate that for everyone who has no idea what he said up there.

"I have only seen the Jermain Taylor fights. I have no idea how Bernard Hopkins actually fights...but Im gonna post like I do!"

Taylorbeat B-Hop twice simple by throwing lost of punchs that did not land that often.
