This news really brings some finality to Calzaghe's great career.

Iv enjoyed watching the man fight for over 10 years, so its a little sad to hear.

Remember when Joe was slated to fight David Telesco at 175? Thats right he took the fight because he said he couldnt make 168. He was full of ****. The guy can STILL make 68 if he wants to and has never had a problem making the weight. All this bollocks about Joe walking around at 200lbs is just that bollocks.

It is actually very true, He walks around heavier than Enzo Mac believe it or not.

Back to then point it's an end to a great era albeit the WBO.

I remember him beating Eubank like it was yesterday.

The 11 year streak will never be repeated again.

Only Frank Warrens fighters have this fixation with the WBO. No other promoter cares. I think Artur Grigorian had a similar long WBO reign. He`s was also marred by a myriad of non-descript defences. As for Joe weighing more than Mac il take that with a large scoop of salt.
