Calzaghe gave Roy Jones a Boxing Lesson

Slappy Calzaghe wouldn't have lived with Roy Jones jr in his prime.
Who did Calzaghe really beat??? Don't say Bernard Hopkins either because that was a disgraceful decision

 

An old and faded jones, who was way past his best

 

According to deluded Calzaghe haters, Joe only beat a shot to **** version of Hopkins to.

Wins over Pavlik, Pascal, Jones Jr, Cloud, Shemenov, Murat, Ornelas and soon Stevenson later......yet Hopkins was shot when he fought the fighting pride of Newbridge, Wales.

Virgins like holdmybeer go to bed at night thinking about Calzaghe bouncing 8 and 9 punch combo's off Lacy gormless dome and wake up screaming in the morning, sweating like a pig reminising about shot Calzaghe taunting their PED using hero Roy Jones and putting an absolute clinic on him. :deal

 

Yet Jones will still rank higher all time while Calzaghe fans continue to try to make him greater than he really was !

 

Not only did he give Roid Jones a boxing lesson, he also gave Hopkins a boxing lesson.......................

 

Jermain Taylor and Chad Dawson don't get huge credit for beating Hopkins. Neither does Roy for beating him at 24 with an injured hand, even though Hopkins didn't go on to lose for another 12 years.

So all things considered, why should Joe get lots of credit for scraping by him?

 

What I don't understand, is using Hopkins' wins over Tarver and Pavlik to validate that he was not shot, while at the same time calling Calzaghe shot vs. Jones even though he was riding 2 of the best wins in his career in Kessler and Hopkins into the Jones fight.

Guess Danny Green gave that same lesson to Jones a as well Ledebev and to think Joe couldn't even knock down that version of Roy

 

To be a legend, you must beat a legend. Don't mess with the Green Machine.:deal

 

Hardcore fans of Joe's regularly tie themselves up in knots.

They just can't see it.

They like to portray him as the greatest SMW of all time, based on his stats.

Which is fine.

But it's those stats that contributed towards him not getting bigger fights earlier.

Yet they can't work out why.

They're baffled, just like how Joe pretended to be.


Go and look who Joe fought from Eubank to Lacy.

It wasn't bad luck.

He was happy to take those fights.

We know that, because he's boasted about his number of WBO defences.

Which again, is fine.

But he couldn't take on those WBO mandos and then turn around and say he wanted big fights, but couldn't them.

That's the reason he couldn't get them.


Roy, Hopkins and HBO etc weren't interested in Joe in the 90's/early 00's.


He brought nothing to the table.


Why would the greatest fighter in the world, and unified LHW champ, want to fight a relatively unknown, WBO champ from Europe, who fought in a different weight class?


Nobody could expect to get an opportunity to fight a huge fight, whilst fighting for an organisation that moved a guy up the rankings after he'd died.

 

Also,

Jones wasn't shot going into the Calzaghe fight becuase of his recent wins, while Calzaghe was shot.

But....

Hopkins-Kessler>>>>>>>>>>>>Trinidad, Hanshaw.

Something about this logic seems flawed to me.

 

To be the man you have to beat the man Woooo

 

Joe was past his best, but Roy was way past his best.

It was cringeworthy listening to Joe telling the media that Roy was back to his best after three great wins.

I'd bet my life that Joe didn't watch the Ajamu and Hanshaw fights.

It was just a final payday for him.


What about what he said about Pavlik?

He said Pavlik had done nothing to warrant a shot.

Then he said that they'd offered Pavlik a fight earlier, what had been turned down.

Ha! How does that make sense?


I've got no time for Joe as a person.

Boasting about his WBO defences, and then pretending he'd chased Roy for 6 years.

Can't stand the guy.

It's a good job he retired undefeated.

Because his ego is so huge, he couldn't have handled a defeat.

It would have destroyed him.
