You say elsewhere that KP and JT would have beaten bothen fighters last night. Mate, you are full of ****.
Well mate if you have two eyes in your ****ing head we've seen within a relatively short period of time that Pavlik and Taylor brought their A games into the fight. We clearly saw both Calzaghe and Kessler bring their B game. So if thats the best Joe can do (which we all know he's capable of much more) than Joe is really in trouble with either Taylor or Pavlik.
Dont even mention Ottke's name with Joe's, Ottke should have 4 or 5 losses on his record, and can you blame Joe for not wanting to go to Germany and fight him? He'd have won every round and still lost the decision. Calzaghe is definetly the number 1 SMW all-time, though i would favour RJ over him in their primes.
Yeah, he gets that nod of course. But he is NOT # 1 head to head. The mistakes he makes even in his prime would get him done in by a small handful of guys.
I can kind of see what your saying, but against the better fighters Joe has always shown his best. Who are the small handful of guys you would give a chance? Id say RJ would beat him, Toney would be close and a couple of guys such as Benn would have the obvious puncher's chance.
Toney/ Roy and a prime Bhop(55/45). Calzaghe has ALWAYS had bad balance and he lunges way too much and Toney is a master of catching those southpaws with a right uppercut or any right hand of any kind. Calzaghe drops his guard when he gets tired and his head movement and defense is not even that good. He gets by on his heart and his ability to counter and put punches together from weird angles(thats why he hurts his hands all the time) But Roy and Toney beat him H2H. Dawson kicks his ass all over the ring. I would bet my house on that. There is nothing Calzaghe can do against a guy who punches str8 in bunches and has more reach quickness and can put even more punches together then him.
You gotta be kidding?? Who the hell did Ottke fight outside of glass-jawed Mundine. Calzaghe has established his dominance at SMW and proven himself one of the 2 or 3 best fighters in the world, P4P. NO comparision. :-(
Joe has the deepest resmue at 168 ever. The 21 or 22 defenses now? 10 years at top. Wins over a prime Kessler (yes folks he is proabally peaking as a fighter right now), Lacy (even though not great he was a pretty good fighter in his prime and Joe embarrassed him) older Eubank (still a pretty good win), Reid, and then all the bums, but who besides Ottke did he not beat? He did what Hopkins and Hagler did at middleweight, clear the division and rule the roost for years. Jones and Toney come in at #2 and #3 respectively. Best resmues 1. Calzaghe 2. Jones 3. Toney Head 2 Head 1. Jones 2. Calzaghe (I would make him a 60/40 underdog against Jones and probally 50/50 against Toney with all 3 at their peaks) 3. Toney
