He'd beat all of them as well as Froch. Ward would give him problems early on but Calzaghe's engine would make a difference.
Weather he'd be able to beat them in a row is tricky to figure though.

Just to add - The thread starter said in a row...like Froch has done, not on individual fights.

I personally belive Joe would have done better than Froch has done but would have suffered a loss taking that type of fighter time and time again.

Lets not forget, Boxing itself is badly managed, we dont need to have 17 weight classes, so guys from 160 to 175 a 15 pound difference is not huge.

    M. Pacquaio has shown despite being smaller that the other guy being 10 pounds heavier isnt really a big difference.

From October 1997 when Joe beat C. Eubank to Novemeber 2008 where he beat a shot Roy Jones Jnr- The following is a list of fighters that belonged in Joe era, fighters that were top elite level operators but Joe never faced. Il list the time period that Joe could have fought them in when it was relevant.

James Toney - 1998 Toney had just lost to D. Thadzki but still Toney skills were apparent despite weight problems...Joe could have fought Toney.

Roy Jones jnr - 1997 to 2002 Jones jnr was the number 1 pound for pound king and virtually unbeaten dspite his diqualfication lost.

Bernard Hopkins - 2002 Hopkins becomes undisputed middleweight champ and was 40-2-1 at the time, this fight would have been interesting.

Sven Ottke 1998-2004- Despite constant criticism from mainly british fight fans, the fact remains Sven was a WBA, IBF Super-Middleweight champ who retired in 2004 with a 34-0 unbeaten record. Whilst not a puncher, he was a good outside boxer, and had a top level chin.

Robin Reid II - 1999 Joe fought a tough fight, some thought Reid won, easily could have given a rematch.

Julio Cesar Gonzalez - Underrated fighter, beat Daruiz the first man to do so and lost a UD12 to Jones in 2001, he was 35-1 at the time.

Dariusz Michalczewski - 2004 Daruiz was the light-heavy WBO King and Joe was super-middle WBO king, Daruiz at the time was 48-0...interesting fight.

Antonio Tarver - 2004 had just knocked out the pound for pound King R. Jones in 2 rounds, Tarver was undisuted light-heavy champ and was 22-2

Chad Dawson - 2008 Was the WBC light-heavy champ and was 26-0 having just beat G. Johnson

Glen Johnson - 2005 Glen had gone 1-1 with Tarver in 2004, and knocked out Jones in 2003, he was 42-10-2 at the start of 04.

That just 10 fighters off the top of my head and a little research, Im sure there are many more.

Again, Joe was talented, and a good fighter on the world stage. He just isnt a great one, that is reserved for guys like Ali, Sugar Ray Robinson, L. Lewis, Duran, Leonard, Hagler, Monzon, Louis, Pep, Whitaker, Holyfield, Tyson, Foreman, Hearns, etc.

Imagine if Ali never risked the fight with Foreman? in 1974?

Imagine if Ali said nah not fighting Frazier unless its in Louisville or something ridiculous. He could have kept saying he was the lineal champ...and never have fought him in 1971...when Frazier was at his peak.

To be considered great, you have to clear out your division, or at least try to, take on all the significant fighters of your time or at least try to, be dominant, and show clear signs of top level skills.

Joe having not fought all those guys I mentioned isnt purly his fault, we all know Ottke didnt want to leave Germany but the same was of Joe for a long time, ****** had to push Calzaghe into fghting Lacy.

Joe could easily have taken less money on occasions, or called out the said opponent.

We crap on Haye but he still tooks risks, when and fought a unification fight with Enzo at a time when alot of people thought Enzo would knock him out, and took on Wlad when he didnt have to.

Calzaghe beats them all except for Kessler in Denmark, where he loses a controversial SD.

Taylor sees the final bell against Calzaghe, Abraham doesn't.

I reckon Calzaghe beats them all, that said back-to-back that is one difficult schedule. Pascal would gas after about 5 Rounds with Joe, I think he'd do a Lacy on him.

Calzaghe would beat them all individually so you have to say he'd go undefeated.

    This and what Teeto said.

Ward and Joe would've been one for the purists though.

It goes without saying John Conteh would've turned up pissed and beaten this lot.

He'd never have beaten Ward. And I never liked Calzaghe, so he wouldn't beat Froch either.
