Thats fine I really just wanted to see if anyone thought there was more to it but if it really is as simple as that then I can understand that also. It just seems strange to see Joe buck the trend of a life time, besides taking easier fights of course.;)

Its like that footballer for Chelsea Ballack

he was on about £130,000 per week and he complained he could not afford a house in London cos the prices were so high

he could easily afford a house on that wage

what he really meant was he cant afford a house with:
    *10 bedrooms
    *4 Kitchens
*100 metre swimming pool and jacuzzi that fits 20 people at same time
*Rollercoaster and other rides in his back garden
*100 arces of land with trees and forests and rivers in his back garden
*a fountain in his front drive built out of pure gold
*a big 100 metre high front gate with a 24/7 security guard
*a team of house servants ansd chef and babysitter
    *10 living rooms
*a cinema with 100 seats in it
*state of the art music studio
*a huge underground home gym with all the latest equipment
    *10 dining rooms
*10 floors - with lifts to take you to each floor

and you expect me to feel sorry for Ballack for not affording that

stop complaing Ballack if you cant afford it

buy a semi detached house like the one I live in - cos I cant afford a super house like that either but I'm not moaning about it

failing that find a cardboard box and sleep in that there is plenty of people in london who live in one of them - you spoilt ****

Thats business, no room for sentiment in business. Branson likes to paint himself as Mr Friendly, the anti-Murdoch, but he's every bit as ruthless away from the camera. Warren isn't different to any other businessman, it's just that we all feel passionately about the business in which he is involved.

I've been on the Calzaghe bandwagon for a long time, but it's now certain that he's picking off a big named fighter thats out of his god damned prime. Calzaghe felt ducked all his career, even by Roy Jones, and now he's picking on the ol' guys in the business, its such a damn shame.
Only, there's one thing in this fight that's intriguing... if by some miracle we see a glimpse of the good old Roy Jones, Joe is toast, he's gonna look like an amatuer and Roy Jones jab will be in his god damn face like flies to ****.
I hope we get to see the best version of todays Roy Jones, he's got the speed and intelligence to give Joe what he needs, a spanking.. the greedy guy ran his mouth and think hes some kind of big shot who can just pick whomever he wants to fight.
Here's hoping that we get to see a glimpse of the good ol' Roy Jones Jr :happy

I hope Roy ICES him :happy:happy

I totally agree!:good People need to temper this Corinthian Spirit they think our boxers/ promoters should have with a bit of realism. Calzaghes been punched in the head for 25 years and now he's in a position to cash in, good luck to the the ****er!!!

You've got a lot of anger there man.

Chill out. Let people make their money, at the end of the day, that's what we all work for.

In all sincerity, a boxer's last fight might well determine the comfort in which he lives the rest of his(and his children's) life. Who would begrudge a boxer a big payday? I hope Joe invests wisely and stays away from fast women and beautiful horses!

Warren Buffett also seems 'grandfatherly' but he is the most ruthless man in America. I bought shares of a struggling company called Dynegy in which he purchased a natural gas pipeline for pennies on the dollar. That was in 2002 and I bet that same pipeline is now worth 10x's what he paid for it. Oil well.

I dont think Calzaghe even if he lives to 85 years old will ever get down to his last £5,000,000.

Calzaghe can invest a £1,000,000 in property he will never even live in.

his kids are probaly got £1,000,000 each already in their life savings account

good luck to him you might say - and fair enough

but all I'm saying is I'm not going to buy the Jones Jnr fight for £14.95 on Sky Box Office

the same reason why I didnt buy the last Hatton fight

why when I am not rich myself contribute a slice of my money to somebody just to make them even richer

I didnt want Ray Hatton getting his hands on my £14.95 so I refused to pay and missed out on nothing

I used that £14.95 to spend it on some food for myself and a few drinks - it was spent on me - not transferred to the Hattons already bulging bank account
