Calzaghe Has A Better Legacy Then Jones

    He has achived more...you could argure that JC opposition was sub par during his reign at 168 (so was Roys) but he finished that critism off by dominating 2 top young undefeated champs in Lacy and Kessler...(both of which have gone now where since)...at the end of his reign.

    His wins over Hops and RJJ were decent and to be admired but not earth shattering ...at least he is (maybe) ended to career on a DOMINANT winning streak which is waaaay more then Roy can say at this stage....

    I love Roy but for the sake of comparision Jo has a much better legacy...

    Middleweight to Heavyweight Champion.

    One of the most dominant reigns at Light Heavyweight. He hardly lost any rounds let alone a fight.

    At his very best, RJ coudnt have been touched. He went a whole round without his opponent landing a punch. Dude was just plain dominant.

    **** man...im not bashing roy, I love Roy..... I am making comparisoin get over it....and the only reason I am comparing is they just fought...

    That's why you Calzaghe fans are so delusional right now. You think becuase Calzaghe beat a shot RJ, that this win somehow was huge and that a prime RJ would've lost also. :patsch

    You are bashing RJ by stating that Calzaghe has the better legacy. :roll:

    How you end your career is of little relevance, what you did with it is.

    RJJ has beaten much, much better fighters then JC has, I really cant see any arguement to the contrary.

    I'm a big Calzaghe fan.

    IMO, he's an ATG and destined for the HOF.

    When he was past prime he beat a very good version of BHOP and a faded version of Roy. IMO, both wins were decisive.

    He would beat anyone between North of 160 and South of 175.

    Dawson and Kessler would be his stiffest challenges at this point, with Dawson being IMO a 50-50 fight.


    All that said, his legacy, while comparable with Bernard's, (could be argued either way) is definitelly not as good as Roy's, neither by achievement nor prime h2h.

    Yes Dominant and LH...agreed but not as dominant as Jo, Jo ultimatley ended off with better opposition at 168 and is undeafeated at his wieght. Roy got ko's twice at LH.

    Hardly lost a round ...yes true but cherry picked like no other.

    Let alone a fight...neither did Jo.

    HW win was over John Ruiz :-( :verysad and personally the fight was where he should have left the ring....his legacy has suffered since that bout

    Calzaghe has a better legacy

    its a legitimate comparision of 2 fighters legacies .....****en deal with it......you sound like a jaded RJJ nutthugger :lol::lol::lol:

    How the **** could you call Jones a cherry picker over JC?

    The bulk of JC's career was fighting has beens and never weres.

    Give me Castro, Toney, even a fairly green Hopkins, Griffen, Hill, Tarver, Sosa, Woods, McCallum, Tate, Ruiz over Lacy, Kessler, an old but decent Hopkins who at the very least was out of his best weight and ..........a nearing the end Eubank, any day of the week.

    Their resumes and reigns are really not comparable.

    Just because you says it true doesnt mean it is. Boxing will remember Roy Jones a lot more fondly, I dont even think you could argue that.
